When is it better to exchange money?

I am flying to the United States on Thursday. Is it better to exchange my cash here in Australia or wait until I arrive in the US?

    Usually best to exchange at your destination. But also nowadays travelers mostly use their credit cards and ATM cards, since they work everywhere now. So you shouldn't be toting much cash.

    The AUD is currently rising in value vs the USD. By the end of the week however, that could change.
