Any US citizens for curtailing the violence in the movie industry?

I was listening to radio broadcasting today that had brought up the recent movie theater shooting. This was a conservative talk show, and the conversation was a rebuttal to the few Democrat voices during this election year that are now calling for gun control.

Anyways, the question is do you

1) Do you think the portrayal of violence in movies has led to a increase in gun violence?

2) Do you rather think it is some other factor?

3) Do you support more gun control?

    1) Gun control (having weapons) is not the problem.

    2) The shooter was psychotic and under a doctor's care who didn't realize the potential of harm.

    3) Don't support gun control, its just another way of taking away our rights

If someone in the theater had a gun, maybe we'd have less casualties and one dead shooter.

    1) Violence in portrayed in fictitious media, i.e. movies, books, tv, etc. rarely leads someone to commit crimes. Sometimes it does, but there has always been crime, and there has always been stories. All you have to do is look at real life, watch the news, read the paper, and you will see and read about violence more brutal than any film.

    2) If there is any increase in gun violence, it has nothing to do with media whatsoever. It has more to do with people being stupid. Violence of any kind perpetuates because people think violence solves everything. It has nothing to do with film, books, or television, only human nature, perpetuated.

    3) Idealistically, I am, but for practicality, I am not. I know that criminals who are serious about crime get their firearms through illegal activities, smuggling, illegal manufacture, and the like. We do not need more regulation, because that puts a lot of people at a serious disadvantage. California has the some of the strictest gun laws in the country, they are number 4 in gun homicides per/100,000 people. Washington DC has the highest firearm related homicides, and have extraordinarily strict gun laws, that criminals illegally circumvent. Vermont has some of the loosest in the country, and they are 48th in gun homicides in the US. It does not matter what guns are legal or not, what matters is the attitude of the person carrying. The majority of gun owners in the US do not commit murder, or commit any crime with a firearm. I know more gun owners than I know criminals. There is no way to test attitude.

No movies has nothing to do with gun violence.

People make their own choices to use guns for the wrong reasons.

More gun control will not prevent violence. It just wont b gun violence. It will be knife violence and 2 by 4 violence. Guns are not the problem the mindsets of the people who use them for the wrong reasons are the problem. Have u not learned that people can and will adapt? If they dont have a gun they'll just use sumthin else.
