Would you mind paying (slightly) more taxes if you KNEW that it wasnt being wasted?

Because i wouldnt. I feel like my money is being misdirected, and that is the only tax problem i have. What do you people think?

Update:

Ok Quizzard-di*k. Obviously this is hypothetical, you cant possibly assume that anyone could truly know where their tax money goes. So the first half of your answer is unnecessary blabber, and is what i would consider a personal insult to my intelligence. So why don't you put your dictionary down, and start answering questions with your just your opinion, or throw deuces and check your self out of the website, huh?

HA, a government not wasting money. Like that would ever exist!

"US A's tax system is grossly unfair. "

-It is, 47% pay no tax at all, that is unfair.

  • Your premise is weak, because it is not possible to KNOW that taxes aren't wasted, nor is the definition of wasted meaningful. If I agree with the purpose of the tax, obviously I would not consider it 'wasted' Whereas if i did not agree with the purpose of the tax, no matter how efficiently it was applied, I would consider it a waste.

I would be fine with extra taxes targeted for a specific use. For example, if the local government wanted an extra few dollars from each of us to outfit every school with some superior equipment, I might support that. If they wanted those same few dollars to provide free iPads for homeless people, I would not.

No, I don't feel the government is entitled to more of MY money simply because they don't "waste" it. And that's not realistic anyway because there will always be a portion of the population who thinks certain things are "wasteful" and a portion who thinks those same things aren't wasteful.

For example, I'm sure plenty of people think that tax breaks for churches is not a waste. I don't agree. Things like this will never be reconciled.

I would not mind paying more taxes if I know the money was well managed. As it is US A's tax system is grossly unfair. I have seen small countries with with much fairer tax systems that provide services for their citizens that would be unheard of in the USA. As an example, Sweden has a tax system set up where every one pays tax according to how much money they make. Yearly tax forms are simple and easy to fill out even for the average citizen. And even the lowly get to use citizens rights fair and square.

    My personal opinion .

If taxes were NOT wasted . It would need LESS tax for the same results.

Don't regard myself as being that bright or clever , but even simple me can work that one out.

I don't mind paying more taxes EVEN if some are wasted. Because I'm a patriot. And patriots support their country.

The governmetn is entitled to my money. Why? Hell, if the US government didn't exist, then I wouldn't exist. My ancestors wouldn't have came to Indian terrirtoy. My parents wouldn't have met. Never had kids. I wouldn't even be alive to ***** about taxes if there wasn't a government.

(Before anyone tries it, I'm not poor and do pay taxes. I make +70k a year.)

I say I pay sufficient rattling taxes because it incredibly is and if I could pay extra i will merely take a seat my happy @$$ at homestead and assemble welfare. 32% Federal earnings tax 4.0.5% State earnings tax 6% revenues tax 4% belongings tax(of my earnings) 2% gasoline tax(of my earnings) 7% different-motor vehicle/boat registration, searching license, fishing license, dogs license, telephone excise tax, development enable, and so on, and so on Yep, that striking. I pay over fifty six% of my earnings in taxes. Who reward from me working? optimistic AS HELL isn't ME. -that is going without stating the value I incur to pass to artwork. motor vehicle upkeep, vehicle coverage, the gasoline minus the tax, factors for artwork, clothing, lunch, homestead to stay in, the coverage for the homestead, Yeah, i'm broke. optimistic choose I had that different fifty six%.
