The only time there is a coefficient of x^39, is when x is to the power of 39, right?

In the binomial expansion, you would need to do:

    41C2 * (x)^39 * (-1)^2 = 820 * x^39 * 1 = 820x^39

So the coefficient is 820 :)

    coefficient of x^39 in

    (x-1)^41

    =41c2*(-1)^2

    =41!/(39!*2!)*(1)

    =(41*40)/2

    =41*20

    =820

    Good luck !
