Bonds in a Nucleotide?

So in a nucleotide which carbon of the pentose sugar attaches to the phosphate group? I read somewhere that its the 5' C but i thought the phosphate group forms a bond with the -OH group of the 3'C?

Can someone please clarify this for me? Thanks.

the phosphate group is linked to the 5' OH of the pentose not 3 C. but for the joining of the 2 nucleotides the phosphodiester bond is formed between the 3 C of one and 5 C of another nucleotide.

The bond which is present between two nucleotide is "phosphodiester bond".
