I know that Hyenas are found mostly in Africa.?

The other day I went to Mount Ranier and saw two animals that to me resembled Hyenas. Is it possible that they could be found at Mount Ranier? Thanks for your answer.

There are no hyenas at Mount Rainier. Some possibilities include marmots, bobcats, coyotes, foxes or martens. Here is a link to the website for the park with photos and information about the mammals that live there that may help you identify what you saw: http://www.nps.gov/mora/naturescience/mammals-of-m... and a link to info and photos of hyenas for comparison: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyena

LOL! Most definitely NOT! There is a fox there that's only found in that area called the Cascade Fox http://www.nationalparkstraveler.com/files/storyph... Super cute but looks nothing like a Hyena.

possibly wolves. If they were shedding some of their winter fur, they would look multicolored ( i e spotted) like a hyena.

Source(s): I heard two hyenas escaped from the Tacoma zoo the other day !! (lol)
