What would you call this?
I keep a diary. Well I call it a diary but I'm not sure if it actually is or not.
I have 2 rules for this diary:
1. Never write anything upsetting
2. Never write about myself
At the moment I am writing about the Olympics. I only write about big events happening around the world.
So I guess if a historian found this book in another 100 years or so it would be very useful.
But what would you call this book?

I would say a journal. Most people consider journal to be synonymous with diary, but in the strictest sense it is simply "a daily record of events or business" (Wikipedia) and a diary is just a "personal journal" where you talk about yourself rather than a particular subject.
That's why it's called journalism and not diaryism.

definitely not a diary as 1 and 2 are essential in diary writing..almost..
