can i do squats and deadlifts on the same day to increase strength?

i would like to improve my squats and deadlift strength but i feel like i would overtrain myself since they're the two heaviest lifts that i do in exercise. i was thinking, maybe do deadlift first since it uses the most muscles followed by squats with higher repetitions. would that work? thanks

personally i recommend that someone should never work two major muscles in 1 day...dead lifts are for your back and squats for your legs...these are two major muscles (split in chest, back and legs with the two supporting bis-tris)
