  • cartilage ear piercing pain?

about a month ago i got my cartilage pierced. just today, it's beginning to hurt. right now, the ear is red and seems to be a bit swollen. i don't know why i'm experiencing pain and redness in the cartilage just now. last week (monday, tuesday, wednesday) i went swimming and didn't apply ear solution immediately afterwards. up until now it wasn't bothering me.

should i remove it or just leave it alone?

  • what can i do with all these unused dumbells and weight plates?

I want to get rid of them since I don't use them anymore now that I have a gym membership. I don't want to resort to craigslist because it's shady. i've offered them to my cousins for free and they don't even want it. i don't wanna hold a garage sale just to sell these weights.

  • what's a good light, vacuum to buy?

i'm looking for a vacuum that functions well and lasts for years. i've been looking for a hoover-brand vacuum (since my aunt recommended it) but based on the reviews it appears that all of them could break as quickly as a few months.

  • to tennis players who don't throw them away: what do you do with the dead tennis balls?

i have a number of tennis balls that are pretty much 'flat.' what can i do to these tennis balls that are no longer playable? are there any places that will take these and put them to use? i don't want to throw them in the garbage or toss them into the field.

  • would a decline bench help improve my bench press?

so i've been doing flat barbell bench press for months now and i can't improve my strength. i've been doing this along with incline dumbbell presses (and lately with dips following the incline presses). i have switched my incline somewhere along those days with close grip but no improvement has been made.

i was wondering if switching to decline will help improve strength in my bench press? i was thinking about putting more emphasis on the eccentric portion of the exercise with only 5 reps per set using 3 sets building to my heaviest and throwing in incline barbell bench afterwards (though, i'm considering using close grip instead) thanks.

  • can i recycle school locks?

i have these bunch of locks in my room that i don't use anymore. they're the kinds that have the black knobs that you turn and require three different numbers to open them. i don't have a single clue what the combinations are. thanks

  • how should i position my injured left knee?

i was at an amusement park yesterday. i was jumping over the rails (while using my arms to give me an extra push upwards) to get to the line quicker, but i jumped a bit short and hit my left knee onto the rail. ever since then ive been feeling pain every time i bend my left knee.

when i was coming home i could bend my left knee (probably because i was sitting down for over an hour at the car ride home). the only time i felt pain was when i was walking up and down the stairs, or squatting down. now, when i woke up this morning, it hurts again whenever i bend my knee.

what should i do to treat this injury? should i keep my left knee bent as much as possible, or should i keep it straight? i've been applying ice on it ever since i got home from the amusement park.

  • can i do squats and deadlifts on the same day to increase strength?

i would like to improve my squats and deadlift strength but i feel like i would overtrain myself since they're the two heaviest lifts that i do in exercise. i was thinking, maybe do deadlift first since it uses the most muscles followed by squats with higher repetitions. would that work? thanks

  • do people with sickle cell anemia produce normal blood cells or abnormal blood cells?

i'm a bit confused about this condition. i thought at first they only produce sickle cells from the red bone marrow, but then i read that normal RBCs form into sickle cells when they unload oxygen or when the person's oxygen levels are low... also, if they can produce normal RBCs, then when they become sickle cells, can they form back into normal RBCs? thanks for the help
