Don't all nations have the right to Nuclear weapons?

The way I see it there are only 3 ways to look at this.

1) If any nation has the right to Nuclear weapons then all nations have this right.

2) No nations have the right to Nuclear weapons

3) Some nations(including the only nation to ever used these weapon in war) have the right to monopolize the control of Nuclear weapons into their hands alone, while preventing any other nation from obtaining such weapons.

Source(s): But us being the world police we use our might to control other nations. If North Korea can have nukes won't not Iran? Besides no country would seriously ever think about using nukes in a war, its suicide for the whole planet. In that sense I say 2 is correct also.

Because extra proliferation makes for extra complex, extra complicated overseas family members than this global can take anymore. The international locations that experience (declared) nuclear guns have banded in combination in opposition to proliferation and primary moves. When rogue international locations that difference political methods like we difference our Presidents get their fingers on nukes, we haven't any cause to feel from their earlier movements and relationships all over the world that they are able to be relied on not to conveniently strike a nation they've deep hatred for - with out being concerned in any respect approximately the fallout, actually or figuratively. And in flip we can't then count on different nuclear armed international locations to not reply in variety out of natural safeguard for what would possibly come subsequent. WWIII. I'll depart the treaties to any one else. Just considering out loud this night.

Repsonsible nations should have the right to nuclear weapons. Notice that the 5 main nuclear powers are on the UN security council and only two of them are loyal allies of the U.S.

If Patton and MacArthur had their way like they should have, the USSR and China would never have been a problem.

Well, 3 is clearly unfair, although in the best interests of those nations.

2 is ideal, but not happening.

    So 1 it is.

Although failed states getting nuclear weapons would be a disaster.

Eventually every nation will need to have access to nuclear power, as the best way to power our world long term.

    How about #4....

We let the peace-loving, non violent nations have/keep them, but we try to keep them out of the hands of the terrorist states that have, for example, expressed a desire to wipe their neighbors fro m the face of the Earth?

If you disagree we can always fight a war over it. Your choice, war is after all still an extension of diplomacy. If you refuse the demands of country A then country A will bring its forces against you to force you into accepting their terms.

No, they need to show they can handle weapons capable of wiping out large amounts of people in a responsible way.

Because some of them want to use them for malicious purposes, like North Korea. Im not sure about Iran. Id say no because then some ruthless dictators would have them and God knows what theyd do with em.
