Advice on dual US and Australian citizenship?
I found out in 2011 my birth father was a US citizen who registered me as a US citizen when I was born. Sadly I was not raised with my birth parents nor was I legally adopted (long story). I want to reinstate my US citizenship but need dual citizenship with Australia as I am receiving an Australian pension and need this funding. I desperately want to move to the US to be with my birth siblings (who I found in 2000) but I am finding the forms and questions frustrating. Does anyone have any information, advice or contacts that would help me with this problem? I do not have much money to pay for advice.

you are already an US citizen, you don't need to reinstate the citizenship.
Since both Australia and the US allow dual citizenship, not a problem. Go to the website of the closest US embassy to you, they will tell you what paperwork you'll need in order to get an US passport.

You are a US citizen and as such you were required to file an annual US income tax return every year since you started making money. Since you didn't, your problem will no be to get a US passport -- that's easy -- but once you are in the US and apply for Medicare, there will be some questions you need to answer. Death and taxes, no way to escape those!
