I live in Australia's capital Canberra. My husband is English. I am Australian but my brothers and sisters are Americans and live in the US (long, sad story).

  • Advice on dual US and Australian citizenship?

I found out in 2011 my birth father was a US citizen who registered me as a US citizen when I was born. Sadly I was not raised with my birth parents nor was I legally adopted (long story). I want to reinstate my US citizenship but need dual citizenship with Australia as I am receiving an Australian pension and need this funding. I desperately want to move to the US to be with my birth siblings (who I found in 2000) but I am finding the forms and questions frustrating. Does anyone have any information, advice or contacts that would help me with this problem? I do not have much money to pay for advice.

  • Problems with Mozilla Firefox?

When I try to go to some site - say Yahoo Answers - I do not get the full site. I only get a distorted version of the left hand side of the site. I now need to use Explorer which has its own problems.

This problem started yesterday but I don't believe I have done anything differently since I have started using Firefox. I can access Yahoo Mail but a lot of other sites are not loading correctly.

    I would appreciated any advice.

  • Has anyone found their birth family?

Were there any siblings? Were you surprised how alike you were both physically and charactistically? I found my birth father after 52 years and discovered 5 siblings. I was astounded just how alike we were not only physically but also our personalities were very similiar. They were all raised together but I was not only raised by someone else but in a different country.

  • Ironing/pressing clothes?

This question is not a criticism just that I am curious.

I noticed on my visits to the US that clothes lines are not in the backyard of homes nor do people iron their own clothes at home (as we do in Australia) but either send their clothes out to the dry cleaners or fold them straight from the clothes dryer. Is this normal practice in American homes?

  • Motivation Issue?

Over the past 6 months I have lost my job, decided to leave my husband and move overseas. My problem is that I cannot motivate myself to do the necessary things to progress my decisions. I do not sleep very well and my eating habits have declined. How can I get out of this rut I seem to have gotten into?

  • Is your partner a hypocondriac and how do you deal with this?

My husband takes a lot of time off work and loses a lot of pay because he has a list of illnesses he seems rotate. I am sure most are genuine but he thinks he can cure himself instead of going to the doctor resulting in more days off work than necessary. This puts a lot of strain on the finances. Talking to him about the situation doesn't seem to have any effect.

  • What are the immigration/citizenship rules??

I may have a case for citizenship in the US as my father registered me as a US citizen missing in Australia way back in 1948 and until 5 years ago this was the case. My father has since passed on and the only biological relatives I have are brothers and sisters all living in the US. My question is can I apply for either citizenship or immigration while in the US on vacation. I don't want to do anything illegal as I am aware how US citizens view illegals. I am having problems getting any sort of response here.

  • How hard is it to get a Petition for Alien Relative approved?

I want to leave my resident county (Australia) and go to live with my brother and his wife in the USA. Has anyone had any experience with applying for a Petition for Alien Relative and what do you think my chances are? I am 59 years of age and would eventually like to try and get some work. All my siblings are US citizens either by birth or by gaining citizenship and all live in the US. My father was born in the US.

  • Does anyone believe internet chatting is cheat?

My husband has relationships with other women via the internet with at least on of them saying that he is "...i couldnt ask for a more devoted and understanding friend, a more seductive, enticing, alluring lover". Does anyone agree with me that this is cheating.
