Can I hook my Laptop to my TV using a HDMI cable?

My Dell Laptop has a HDMI Port and my TV is a Plasma with a HDMI Port so I would like to know if I purchase a HDMI cable will I be able to watch movies etc on my TV via my Laptop. I am slightly challenged with this technology so any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes, definitely. HDMI has the clearest picture and highest resolution. Much better than VGA or s-video.

Yes, if your laptop has a HDMI port as well as your TV, you will be able to watch movies from your Laptop on your TV as long as you have an HDMI cable to connect the two together. As soon as you plug the cable into both the laptop and the TV, you would need to set your TV's source/input/auxilary to HDMI or whatever it is titled on your TV, and you will see your laptop's display on your TV.

    Hope this helped.
