Revision Help: Distance/Displacement?

I'm not sure how to write the answer to this out..

"If you move 10 km North, 10 km East, and 10 km South, what is your displacement, and what is the total distance traveled?"

I know that the total distance would be 30 km, but I'm not sure how to write out the displacement with all three directions.. if that makes sense.

Help? :)

It is regarding distance covered formula.

    Try to find a-b type.

like first 10 km north from that 10 km east and 10 km south. Then you want to know what distance you are from the actual distance.

10 km from the actual distance.

Like you said, total distance would be 30km. I guess you could write displacement in vector format. For instance, 10km j for North, 10km i for East and then -10 km j for South and add them all together which would give you a displacement of 10 km Eastfrom the original position.
