Nope, sounds about right. A radiator is about $200-$300 then you have labor to install. A tune up, depending on what the shop does could be as little as $100 but as much as $1000. You got to factor in parts and labor as well...new spark plugs, filters, oil, waste removal...it all adds up. Here's a suggestion, take it to the dealer. I bet it will be more.

YEP RIP OFF!!! Honda tune up parts are dirt cheap, and a genuine replacement radiator is around $100. BE SURE that he uses geuine HONDA coolant in there. Wires on honda engines do NOT require changing unless chewed by animals. PLugs are at most $7 each for geuine IRIDIUM plugs. and chances are he will NOT clean out the idle air control valve and throttle body. Most technicians do NOTHING about dirty IAC vavles, and that is the most vital part of a tune-up. It fine tunes and adjusts air/fuel mixture at all running speeds and prevents clogging up of converters exhaust systmes and O2 sensors. Radator replacement takes about an HOUR to do, or less. But flushing with good coolant (proper HONDA) takes more time. GOOD LUCK!!

depends on what the tune up involves and home much a new radiator is? if the rad is $500 -600 then it would seem about right all in - its about 30mins to 1 hr labour to change a rad dependent on whether you have aircon, as this will affect accessibility and maybe some cross piping to the a/c rad all takes extra time :)
do you definitely need a new rad? are you losing coolant, i guess he wouldn't have said it, unless you needed it, always worth getting a second quote for the work, never accept a first offer as being the best.
hope you get it worked out.

Seems expensive- a new radiator is about $150 - $180, plus coolant & 1 hr to install- tune up should be around $200. Id expect to pay around $500 max

a radiator for a civic depending on year is not expensive. I found one for a 1995 civic for 65 dollars at advanced auto. The tune up...if you are talking plugs and wires and cap....I would say 4 plugs @ $3 each, wires for 50, and cap/rotor for 40. So you are talking 167 dollars in parts and 600 in labor??? Thats a rip off!!! Do it yourself and save some money!

the main Ive spent on a fix became like $80 icontinual an 80 one ford truck it is why and that i artwork on it yet in the previous that i had some autos... i hate autos. Ive in no way spent a ton of money yet i had a 80 5 VW GTI i replaced grab/rigidity plate/throwout bearing/launch lever/grab slave cyl, that fee me like 12 goddamned hours of artwork, as quickly as I had merely completed all an identical to a ford festiva the week in the previous in 3 hours.
