Will Facebook begin notifying people that you've visited their profiles?

I was watching this show on the station G4TV called Attack of the Show earlier today and I thought I may have heard the annoying fat dude who thinks he's funny when he actually isn't saying something about how Facebook will notify people when you've visited their profiles or something along those lines. It became a challenge to dedicate all of my attention to the television at that time because the host was rather annoying in that particular segment and I would have much rather listened to something else until Sara Underwood started talking again, so I may have misunderstood the potential update or rumor in its entirety.

I dated a girl once who used to live in Brazil and she had introduced me to the popular social networking website in her country, Orkut. I didn't like Orkut for various reasons, one reason being that whenever you visited somebody's profile, it would notify them that you visited. I didn't have any friends on Orkut so it wasn't much of a problem for myself as much as it was just a feature I disliked, but I do use Facebook often, and every now and then I'll "lurk" on profiles, whether they're on my friend list or not. Mainly to look at the pictures in their albums.

Is this going to be a future update for Facebook? Will my lurking have to stop due to the many women I e-stalk having been alerted to my constant online presence to their profiles? I'll have to preemptively start saving my favorite pictures to my computer just in case.

At this very point, I don't think that is gonna happen.

    1. Facebook has LARGE number of users and they keep visiting someone's profiles. It is hard as hell for them to implement this to every user account.

    2. From user prospects, girls will be bombarded with notifications because a lot of freaks visit their profiles and stare at their pics. No girl wants to see 1000s of useless notifications. If they implement this, I suspect most of the female profiles will quit using facebook which they don't want.

    3. It wouldn't suit them economically. They got bigger things to worry about after their IPO fiasco.
