Read this- The thoughts of a random guy you'll never meet.?
Ok, I am a fundamentalist. This means that I believe in the written text of the Bible. I am not perfect, nowhere near it. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that he is our God. In the Bible, God asks each and every one of us to honor Jesus as God.
The Bible says alot about a bunch of things, as in the movie the Love Guru, it is BasicInstructionsBeforeLeavingEarth. It's cheesy but non-the-less true. Jesus added a commandment to the original 10 commandments, he asks that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. This is all good.
Now, as a fundamentalist, through my understanding, I have serious doubts that I will ever make it Heaven. The straight and narrow is a rarely traveled path unlike the broad path of damnation. Jesus is good and loves each and every one of us. He will take us by the hand and guide us as far as we are willing to go without resistance or struggle.
I try to read the bible, and I succeed from time to time, many books I have read in it. Reading the word of God, which is the Bible, is the only way to understand what God wants from us. He speaks to us through his word. God is a loving merciful god. Not to say that after years and years of rebellion he wont teach us to behave. Gods wrath is poured out from time to time on us to grab our attention to persuad us to change our ways.
God knows that we are a stubborn people that will mock and rebell. God knows that people will spit in His face, yet He still loves us, is still merciful torwards us.
In todays world, I ask that you please consider the fact that God exists and is patiently waiting for us to turn torwards him. To repent from our evil ways. It is not that hard, but in todays world sin just comes so natural. The will of God for us is to overcome human nature, to be Christlike in everyway. It is a hard road to stay on, but at the same time it is the simpleist thing to do. This is just my inner thoughts coming out to the world. Please don't hate to bad.

As a whole, your post is beautiful, it is thoughtful an thought provoking, however, I am having a struggle with the fact that you don't believe you will go to Heaven, in all of your reading of the Bible and just basic instruction and guide from it, why do you ignore JOHN 3 :16?
The bible is deeper than it is superficial at any given time of the day. God is not slack in His promises and His wisdom is not ours. Surely, prayer to fix that doubting thomas part of you in spirit will bring you more into focus with the word as God cannot and does not lie. (john 3:16 is truth.)
Your spoken words are powerful within the post, but the doubt comes booming through. Since you love the Lord, study not read, focus not doubt, and remember the most precious scripture to reference your fears, Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding." that sums it up. He has a place for you there and when it is time, He is waiting to receive His good and faithful servant.
God bless and prosper you and yours.
your family in Christ,

You are a fundamentalist. I thought you were a troll at first, but i actually think that you believe that the earth is approx. 6 thousand years old. You spit in the face of science. Science wipes off the spit & continues to calculate.
If all you wanted to do was pray to your god & feed the poor people, there would be no problem. However, some of the people in your clan think they are doing "god's work" to hasten the events at the end of your book. I am glad to inform you that the lion will never lay down with the lamb. All that will be left after your apocalypse is death & destruction. I can only hope that you will impart this possibility to your children, or that they read this themselves without you hovering over them.

I don't hate you at all. I do feel very sorry for you, though.
If you want to live your life feeling shame and misery and fear every day, that is totally up to you.
But perhaps you should consider this: You may be mistaken in what you believe to be true. There are many, many things in the Bible that have been proven wrong by today's science. And if those things are wrong, what else might be wrong?
The Bible was written a long time ago by men from a different culture and world view than we have now. There is bound to be some of their values and personal prejudices in there, masquerading as "holy writ".
My advice (although you haven't asked for it, I know) is to give up the notion that the Bible is true and factual. Enjoy your life, do what is right, treat others well, laugh lots and love much. That is a life worth living.

I don't understand why anybody would believe anything from the Bible. It's just an ancient book of myths that was written by primitive men who believed that the Earth was the center of the universe, and it was flat and covered by a large solid dome called the firmament.
The Bible (supposedly written by God and prophets) is full of doctrines and examples that civilized people reject:
* Slavery
* Genocide
* Rape and Incest
* Male domination
* Female subjugation
* Blood sacrifice for atonement (including that of the mythical Jesus)
* Punishing the innocent to free the guilty
* Death penalty for minor infractions (over 50 verses -- see 1st link)
* Ancient myths about the origins of the world

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions. Too bad most people will hate on you for it, at least on here.

read Ex 23:13, where YHVH clearly tells us not to call Him by names of heathen mighty ones, (like 'god' 'lord' etc.) and the name of the Savior was YAHUSHUA. (It means YHVH's Salvation, and He is very powerful, and is working for our salvation, which is our only hope.)
