This is a question who truly believe in God and the bible.?

I have been thinking about this question for a while now, and i guess the best way to ask it it so ask Christians. To give you a background of myself a bit, i was born in the Anglican church and my mom is very devote, she believes in God's teaching and prays/reads the bible as much as she can. She raised my brothers and i to follow in the way/teaching of Christ and all that jazz, but for me i am more extreme, if i can not put my whole heart into something 100% i don't see the point in believing or doing it.

But enough about me, i really want to know people's answers to my question and that is:

Do you think with all that is going on today (like gay marriage, and most heterosexuals choosing to "live in sin" b/c they feel marriage is just a piece of paper or it's too expensive) God really still exist and should the bible be revamp?

It's like people just feel the bible is outdated so with the changing times they just choose to do what they feel instead of what is "God's way" for an example, my friend since HS, (i am 25 btw) she has 2 kids now with her bf (6, and 7months) they been together since junior year of HS, and has no plans on marrying what so ever, yet she claims to love God and has a good relationship with him. I only told her this twice once back in 2008 when her first son was around 2 and again about 2 months ago and i won't tell her again....i told her "the way we were raised, you claim to have a good relationship with God yet you aren't living by the sacraments, you aren't living right and i do feel more blessings will come your way if you just take that other step, marriage isn't a piece of paper it is a binding contract b/w you, your husband and God" The damn girl too me "i am in a committed relationship and that shouldn't effect my relationship with God, i don't want to get married" ....so obviously i left it alone. <_<

These things like that, just make me feel that God doesn't exist anymore and it's like people just don't care and act so hypocritical toward him, and it's like he doesn't anymore. But what do all of you think?

Sorry it was too long but i really wanted to get as much in there and not seem to rant etc. lol

The Gospel without the cross is a false gospel.

Christ came to save sinners and to save them from sin....not to sin.

Your friend is deluding herself and has made up her own version of the Gospel without the cross.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

The fruit of God is that which only God can produce.

Let's be honest, any one can live like her. It does not take the power of God to indulge yourself as she does.

But Christ calls for all to :

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Clearly she is not His disciple on Christ's Own word.

You speak of the falling away and the general rejection of God but it has always been like that, only the details have been different. In the past the sound of God's name might be in people's mouths but their hearts far from Him. That is even demonstrated to you in your friend that you cite.

Christ warned then and warns now :

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

It is quite clear there will be many self deluded people who claim Him and His name but who He never knew :

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

They work iniquity because they have never been changed to live anew by the Spirit of God but continue on with the same old sinful nature dressed up a bit with religious labels and works.

Rather than weaken you. these things should surely strengthen you because you can see the words of Scripture being lived out and demonstrated before your very eyes.

How does anybody have faith? The true saving faith.?

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Give yourself to the Bible and seeking God through His word. Then not only will you see Scripture demonstrated before your eyes but if you continue and respond you will see His precious promises demonstrated in your life.

To remind you what was said before, Christ came to save sinners not the self righteous or those that don't think there is too much wrong with them.

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Until any see that they are a helpless sinner how will they ever truly turn to Him? Beg God to show you your sin then. The rest will take care of itself, as it were.

And you are right about the 100% bit.

Unless you give yourself 100% how then can God give Himself to you?

Well, the wedding ring was never mentioned in the Bible. It was adopted by Saint Valentine (like the holiday) into the church.

But anyway, there are very difficult questions out there, and this is one of them. I don't know all the answers, I never claimed to. But I know one thing: Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I know that He is alive. I have experienced Him and His glory. I would encourage you to stay strong and keep chugging away through difficulties in life without concerning yourself too much with what other people do.

God is ultimate, and judgment day will come. When that day comes and He points at a particular situation in our lives (asking why we acted the way we did), there will only be three things that we can legitimately say:

    1.) "I'm sorry, I messed up."

2.) "You told me to do this."

And 3.) The Bible you gave me told me this."

Any other reason we could give would be flawed. If we say "the pastor at this church told me that" God will respond "Who is He to contradict me? Why didn't you look into it and see for yourself?"

All this to say: I would spur you to encourage your friend to do the right thing. (My brother lived with his girlfriend for over a year--which I believe is wrong. They're actually getting married today, thank goodness.) If she doesn't, then there's nothing you can do about it. All you can do is work on yourself, and encourage others to pursue righteousness in the same manner.

If you have any other questions, feel free to private message me.

    D&C 91: 1, 3, 6

    1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you concerning the Apocrypha—There are many things contained therein that are true, and it is mostly translated correctly;

    D&C 124: 89, 125

89 If he will do my will let him from henceforth hearken to the counsel of my servant Joseph, and with his interest support the bcause of the poor, and publish the new translation of my holy word unto the inhabitants of the earth.

Certainly it is a good query certainly! In general what happens is people who consider in God and have intense religion in his mercy attempt to flip a blind eye to this question. They without problems anticipate that God is just trying out us, or there might be everlasting heaven after these poor things. But are not they fooling themselves but resisting to listen to the tips and feel logically? No all-powerful, merciful creature would ever do the atrocities going down to persons, and will in no way let anyone undergo in soreness. Not announcing that God is evil, but neither is God good or he does not exist. Notice: If there really existed a countless God then we all would be infinitesimally small for him to even care about what occurs to us.

I was raised a Catholic but since then have changed my beliefs on the world. I think the bible is a very interesting piece of literature, but I don't feel obligated to follow it's every word. Those who "follow" everything the bible says, are liars. Most of them object gay marriage and other things the bible claims are wrong, but cast away other things such as the bible's proclamation that one should not eat shellfish. I personally live my life by trying to attain internal peace, help everyone around me and treat everyone around me with respect, and learn as much as I can in this lifetime. I feel that regardless of whether or not God is real, this is the right thing to do. I also feel that if he does exist, he would be pleased with me. I do not worry myself with the actions of other people's lives for that is their own choice, I simply try and muster the most generosity and kindness I can for every person I meet.

Just because mankind and his morals are going down the tubes, it doesn't mean God is absent from the scene. These things were predicted to happen. God has not yet put a stop to it, but He will, it's only a matter of time.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The bible is the living word of God....it is just as necessary for us today as it was back in the day of Moses.

Your friend may love God, but she does not have a good relationship with Him...otherwise she would be following His teaching about life. God tells us about sins, especially sexual immorality because they harm us....God loves us and wants us to be happy. That's why we need to read the bible.....everything we need to know is written in the word of God.

Marriage is a covenant between a man, woman and God....very serious promise.

history repeats itself. from the days of noah to sodom and gomorrah, to egypt to rome, etc. each generation corrupts itself and god has no remedy but to destroy it. be a student of history and the bible because its all true and it proves itself by its righteousness being manfiested when god can no longer tolerate the abominations people repeat from past generations that god had to judge.

These are the times just before Jesus Christ returns. We don't know how long, years, decades, tomorrow (probably not). But, He shall come again. Every person must decide what path they are going to follow, good or evil. Every one will be rewarded according to their choice, both in this world, and in eternity.
