any really good tips on how to straighten my hair?
i know:
straighten it in layers
use a comb
make sure hair is dry
make sure hair is detangled
go slowly
it usually takes me like an hour and a half and my hair does not stay straight for that long. and it usually maintains a wave. my hair is extremely curly and really poofy and frizzy and kinda greasy. im white but when i dont do anything to it it kinda looks like afro hair. its a few inches past shoulder length and i have A LOT of layers. i have this haircut (my profile pic is rlly old):

but its a little less poffy then that and the layers have grown out, im getting it cut again soon but more like this:

and im gonna need it straight! my hair is kinda greasy, so can you name any products that would help? please don't just tell me to use heat protectant because i know that i should but it always makes my hair greasy. i need products that will help get it straight and keep it straight. or also any products that would cut down greasiness. I've tried baking soda and all that other weird stuff and it does not work. my hair is also a little dry and really frizzy so how can i help with that? its like curls but they're all frizzed out. i sometimes use this smoother shampoo and it kinda makes it less frizzy and doesn't make it too greasy, but it doesn't help very much with straightening. my parents wont let me get a keratin treatment because it has formaldehyde in it so that's out. they also wont let me dye it or bleach it. and my straightener is kinda cheap but i cant get a new one until at lest Christmas so please don't tell me to get a new one. and for the products please don't make them too expensive. and also please do not comment on my spelling.
also: those links are confusing and they never actually help

my hair isnt as thick and poofy as your's, but its curly, frizzy, occasionally greasy, and looks like a tumble-weed if not treated.
try some of these products:
~Wen by Chaz Dean (it wont help straighten it entirely, but it will help get rid of frizzy, greasy hair)
~Frizz-ease hair serum - thermal protection
~Hairspray (if you dont want hair to be stiff, use Dove damage therapy - flexible hold)
~Weather Works by Frizz-ease
~Coconut oil
~Pantene Gel it Straight Gel
Tricks and Tips:
~excessive heat is bad for your hair. so when you're straightening your hair, try to go over each piece one time (turn the temp on the straightener between med and high). the more times you go over your hair the more damaged it becomes resulting in more frizziness
~use straightening serum before you blow dry and straighten
~the shorter your hair, the most likely it will curl
~use a clarifying shampoo once a month
~wash your hair frequently, but not every day.
Straighteners:
~most store bought ones such as revlon are harsh on hair.
~ask your hair stylist which is best

Thanks for the answer on mine, so here ya go! Okaaay so my hair is greasy, a bit dry, thick and very verry frizzy!! Okay. Try a few different conditioners, and hairsprays. Im not sure whats best, I just use my moms hair stuff xD but look up good products for your hair type might help. Take a shower using the conditioner you like best, blowdry your hair to make it less than damp, still just a LITTLE wet, just a bit!!!! Brush it out, blow dry it, then spray a bit of hairspray. Straighten slowly. Hopefully you only have to do this a few times. Hope I help! YOUR ANSWER WAS BEST ON MINE!(: thanks sooo much!

Get a good hair straightner, that goes very go very hot or you can change the setting.
My hair straightners have settings like thick, long, short and thin hair.
Use a very good anti frizz or dry shampoo. I always leave my conditioner in for about 2-3. minutes before washing it out and that leaves it very shiny and soft
