I have quite a bit of family in Canada (obviously the first lot were Irish and they moved out there in the late 1950s and have been there ever since)
I've visited (Toronto and Ontario) and found the people absolutely lovely, your hospitality (from friends, family and strangers) was outstanding and everyone I met without exception was very nice to me.
I still, however, can't distinguish the difference between Canadian and American accents (sorry!)

I like canadians, but I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between the average canadian accent and the majority of America's accent.(Well I know the stereotyped canadian accent but.. haha) Besides the south and new york etc which is easier to know. But i like the accent.

Europeans cannot tell the difference between Americans and Canadians, sorry. The difference in accents goes over their heads for the most part unless it is very broad.
Generally they will think you are American

I can't easily tell the difference between a Canadian accent and a north American one. However, all our visitors are welcome and have interesting things to tell us.
