Hey Bad Wolf, Nixon was re-elected in 1972 and served about a year and a half of his 2nd term before he resigned. So he wasn't a one-termer.

Obama is already the president and if he wins the election he will continue to be the president. The next president will either be Mitt Romney, if he beats Obama in the next election or Joe Biden if Barack Obama dies or has to leave office or the winner in the 2016 election. Obama cannot be the next president because he already is president. The last one term president was George Bush (I) who lost to Bill Clinton in 1992.

We've had lots of single term Presidents in the last 50 years.

Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, HW Bush

Only Reagan, Clinton and W Bush served two terms.

    DRL:

Yes he was reelected but did not serve out 1/2 of his second term. Therefore that term was recognized as Ford. If Ford had won reelection it would have been his second term. Therefore he was elected twice but only served a single term.

The last single term president? Bill Clinton bead George HW Bush who is married to that guy on the Quaker Oats Box. That was popular in its day. Obama2012!
