Problem with optical audio 360 when unplugged?
BTW, I know about the two RCA white and red cables. I plugged in everything properly. I'm a geek.
But what I don't understand is how to get my audio back. Here is the backstory.
So I HAD my 360 set up to surround sound. I know how to do that. I brought it to a friend's house, disconnecting the optical audio cable. I set it up on his TV with the Component AV Cable, everything is plugged in properly, thank you.
Now my 360 won't acknowledge that the optical cable has been disconnected. The settings keep saying "This setting only applies to optical digital and HDMI audio outputs." That's great 360, I don't have an optical or HDMI plugged in. In fact, I DON'T even have an HDMI I/O.
If you all know of any way to change the settings so that I can reset audio to basic component audio, that would be extremely helpful.

in the display settings, set the output form hdmi to component. see if that also fixes the audio.
