How to heat water for tea?

Ok...so I will live in a dorm. My only source of heating will be the microwave. Coffee makers and kettles are not allowed for "building code safety regulations."

What's the best way to heat water for hot tea?

Sorry about post in P&S. There's just more people here...Any suggestions welcome!

Update:

Reason I ask is because there I read there was in improper way of heating water in the microwave.

Get a borosil bowl. Fill it with water. Put the bowlinside the microwave oven. Close the door. Set it at 750, set the time at 90 seconds. Press start.

Ok well put your water in a bowl (the size depending on how much water you would like) then google or something the average time for a kettle to boil and what temp it's at then just set your microwave to that heat and time.

So let me get this straight. You're in college and you don't know how to heat up water in a microwave?

EDIT: There is no proper or improper way. Just stick the dang thing in there and press the button marked "heating hot water for people who don't know how to heat water"...

yeah, it's a pretty big button.
