B1 in lieu of H1B visa?
I have a valid B1 visa. I am working for an Indian company. We have sold machinery to our client in the US. The company in the US is just our customer, not an affiliate or sister or parent company.
My company wants me to apply for the B1 in lieu of H1. Kindly if anyone could answer the following questions:
Can I enter the US on my B1 visa and then apply for B1 in lieu of H1 visa?
Or do I have to get it from my consulate in India only?
Will my existing B1 visa get cancelled?
What are the usual documents required?
How will the US company pay me for expenses in housing and food etc? By cash, cheque or through payroll?

You cannot use the B-1 visa if the US company is expected to pay you or your expenses. You can use the B1 visa that you have if you are to be paid by your employer if you are to perform installation or service related to the sale if it is specified by the sales contract. You have not indicated what you will be doing or how long you intend to remain in the US. It should not be for more than a short period to justify use of the B-1 visa.

I've a buddy. Australian. She's been married to a US citizen for two decades, had a inexperienced card for twenty years, handiest every so often gone again to Australia for trip. Marriage is ending. She wishes to go back to Australia and spend a number of years there. She claims to have an indefinite green Card since she has a US spouse. I idea all inexperienced cards simplest had 10 year spans now. Are the older ones still un-ending? Is there whatever she should do to investigate on her green Card repute? And if she leaves for a few years, that's bad, proper? You're supposed to preserve a US dwelling, keep in the united states 6 months out of 12, and 30 out of 60 months. Are they the right numbers? Are long term spouse headquartered inexperienced cards exempt from these rules?
