Jehovah's Witnesses-please explain this passage of scripture?
Who are the people spoken of in these verses? Where are they? How many of them are there?
hint: the answers to these questions are given in this passage of scripture.
Revelation 7:9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”
13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes —who are they, and where did they come from?”
14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore,
“they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,
nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'

Unfortunately, Jehovah's Witness doctrine has deprived the majority of mankind of being in the heavens as part of New Jerusalem, where the scorching sun does not shine, no hunger or thirst.
We all know that the Lamb, Jesus is at the CENTER of that throne, and that throne is not on the earth.
It will be the unrighteous 2nd resurrected who will be on this earth during the 1000 years, and that is why all of them will attack New Jerusalem at the end of the 1000 years when satan is released from his bonds, and gathers all of the inhabitants of earth against this heavenly descended kingdom to destroy them.
Why would Jesus have that great crowd living on the earth during the 1000 years, to make the earth into a garden paradise, only to have it all destroyed by Jesus, along with the False Prophet and the wicked angels?
The paradise comes in the "New Earth", after the 1000 years.
This is a part of false teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses...their teachings do not align themselves with the Bible, they align themselves with the false prophet.
Here is what the Watchtower Society says about this "interpretation" of theirs;
" In 1923, Jehovah’s servants discerned that “the sheep” of Jesus’ parable found at Matthew 25:31-46 and the “other sheep” to which he referred as recorded at John 10:16 are people who would have the opportunity to live forever on earth. In 1931 those described at Ezekiel 9:1-11 as being marked in their foreheads were also seen to be those with the earthly hope. Then in 1935 it was learned that the great crowd form part of the other sheep class Jesus spoke about. Today, this favored great crowd numbers in the millions".
This is the "Discernment" that the JW's are claiming....at the same time, Joseph Rutherford was proclaiming the "return of the notable worthies" at Beth Sarim, and the "Millions now living" lie.
Yes, there will be a new heavens and a new earth in which righteous is to dwell, but it is in a different time frame, and understanding, that Jehovah's Witnesses fail to "discern".
How can Jehovah's Witnesses eat at the table of demons and angels in their publications, and expect to get it "right"?
Most important, is that the scriptures say, "A man must be born again to see the Kingdom of God".
How can any of the JW great crowd live on the earth, when the throne of God incorporates the earth as Jesus' footstool, also a part of the Kingdom?
They are not "Born Again", so they cannot be in that new earth.

The Great Multitude is a spiritual class, that is they get a heavenly resurrection.
They are not part of the Little Flock, the Bride class, but as we see in these scriptures they are before and not in the throne and are servants to those who sit on the throne.
elsewhere they are seen in parables and types
they are the foolish virgins , the scapegoat class, the other sister in Song of Solomon, Elisha.
Rev. 19 says they get to come to the wedding reception, but they miss the wedding because they are not the bride.
This is what the Watch Tower used to teach and this is the correct interpretation of the scripture.
The Watch Tower also used to teach that there are spirit-begotten in other denominations--that is there are Christians in other denominations who were running for the prize of the high calling.
Bible Students still hold to these Truths.
the entire world of mankind all the way back to Adam are who is resurrected on the earth during the Millennium --these are the ones the
Bride class as Kings and Priests reign over and bring up the highway of holiness -(Isa 35).
This was also the original teaching of the Watch Tower

This is clearly showing US that the heavenly person who
we know as Jesus, the great shepherd is GOD!
Verse 11 starts with 'Amen' and ends with 'Amen'
And we know by the bible Jesus is the "Amen" - Rev 3:14.
So this scripture is focusing on Jesus!
Rev 4:11 backs this up as it says," Our Lord and God!
You are worthy to receive glory, honour & power.."
Rev 5:12 repeats this same verse.
As God in the direct sense has always had the power,
glory and honour; Then this verse must be showing the
bestowing of power upon the Son for being the Saviour!
Again, Rev 5:14 shows worship to the "Amen"!
Also, note in Rev 7:17 shows the Lamb at the 'centre' of
the throne!
So these people are the ones that proclaim Jesus as Lord
& God. They have ALREADY been made 'pure' as the scripture
shows that their robes are white (cleansed - without sin).
[Which clearly 'contradicts' JW teachings; As they teach
those coming out of the great tribulation wont be cleansed
until after the thousand years as ended and been tested by
satan in their perfect human state!!]

There might be a complete of two resurrections. The 'first' resurrection is of people who had been faithful followers of Christ Jesus, AND, were in my view chosen for reassignment to reside in heaven, to rule alongside Christ as king-priests over the earth & mankind for the duration of the millenium. Such ones have been in whole agreement with Bible teachings & specifications on the time of their deaths. They're for that reason described as being 'in union with Christ', given that as quickly as they are introduced back to lifestyles --identical to before their deaths-- they'll yet again be in union with Christ. It's not relating to the time when they're 'asleep in loss of life', or, nonexistent. It is referring to their attitudes earlier than their deaths, and, after their resurrection to spirit lifestyles.

There are 2 groups of people that will survive the great tribulation ( or armageddon)
1. "the 144000" that will receive a heavenly reward
and
2. "the great crowd that no one could count". these will receive an earthly reward of everlasting life (that adam originally lost and Jesus paid for with his sacrifice)
