Need help on B1 in lieu of H1B?
Hello Guys,
I am in Mumbai, India now. I was working with a company in 2007 in Bangalore and that time I got my B1 visa valid till 2017. I was laid off in 2011. Now my current employer wants to send me to the US in Dallas to a company for installation of 1 of our machine we sold them.
Kindly could you please help me with my questions:
What are the required documents I will need to go to the embassy?
How long will it take to receive the visa?
Does the previous B1 visa get cancelled?
How will the US company pay for my lodging and per diem? By cash or check?
How long is Visa? 1 year or 6 months?
I am really tired finding information on the internet regarding this visa.
Your replies would be highly appreciated.
Ed,
I already know what I can/cannot do on the B1. I want information on how to apply for 'B1 in Lieu of H1B'. This visa allows H1B work on a B1 visa and lodging and per diem expenses can be legally paid by the US company.
