What is the best game you have ever played?

My top 5 would have to be:

1. Kingdom Hearts 2

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops

3. NBA 2K12

4. NBA Street Homecourt

5. SSX (any of them)

these are not in order

Eternal Sonata is one of the best games I've ever played. It's visually stunning with a really wonderful story. I played the version for the Xbox 360.

I'm also a big Animal Crossing fan, any AC game out or about to come out can easily be called a favorite for me. It's just very easy and slow paced, very fun when you're tired and need a peaceful way to relax and have fun. (I played the Gamecube version, Wii Version, DS version, and waiting for the 3DS version to come out)

Minecraft is also an exceptional game, I love building games. I use the 360 version and the PC version, but I use the PC version more. I'm currently in the process of building a Sky Kingdom! (It's coming out great!)

The Sims series is also fun. I play The Sims 3 regularly. Creating a bunch of psychotic sims and torturing them is much more fun than it should be XD

However, there is one series of games I love more than any other:

Professor Layton.

I played the Curious Village, the Diabolical Box, the Unwound Future, and the Last Specter several times, but the Unwound Future is my absolute favorite. I actually cried at the ending! (how many puzzle games can say that they've made people cry?)

The puzzles are extremely fun, the characters are unbelievably lovable, and the stories are very interesting and full of twists. The stories can often make you rather emotional. I cannot possibly think of a game series better than Professor Layton. Anyone who has a DS and hasn't played any of the four Layton games is really missing out!

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracles is coming out in the US for the 3DS soon, so I'm looking forward for that!

Oh my god! This is probably the first time I've EVER seen this question asked and the OP's favorite game wasn't Call of Duty or Halo. Faith in humanity; restored. Anyway, my favorite game of all time changes depending on my mood and what I happen to be collecting at the time. If I'm buying a lot of Sega lots (like I have been recently) then my favorite is usually a 2D Sonic game, like Sonic CD or Sonic 2. If I'm buying tons of Nintendo stuff, it's Super Mario Bros 3. SNK stuff, King of Fighters. So I guess here's my top 5, in no particular order.

1. Super Mario Bros 3

2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina/Majora (I'm putting them together because they are the same engine. I like them both too much)

3. Sonic 2

4. Golden Axe

5. Streets of Rage

I've been buying a lot of Sega stuff, so I've got a lot of Sega on my mind, which is why the list is all over the place. I could go on naming some classics I adore, and I'm sure as soon as I hit "Post" I'll think of 20 more game to add.

For me, definitely Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2...never mind the fact that it was Disney, and you have one of the best RPG titles ever made right there with an excellent combat system.

looking back id have to say the original medal of honor. the multiplayer was great. i was into wow for a long time too, but that was more of a chore than being fun most of the time.
