I am 13 and plan to go vegan. Do you have any ideas on what meals I should eat?

I am not good at wording things so just bear with me, if you will.

I just want to know what meals to eat. I can't think of anything besides nuts and granola.

I would also want to know meals I could bring to school.

By the way I don't want to have like salads every day and things like that, I eat fruit and vegetables, but I don't want things that are bland and stuff. I have been having soymilk with my cereals every day, and I would like you to also name vegan cereals.

Try getting some vegan cookbooks, like "Color Me Vegan". There are some great easy recipes in there, like whole grain strawberry and almond butter wraps for school lunches or kiwi&banana gluten free muffins (all organic and sugar free). Most of the vegan cookbooks also have great introductions with information about getting the right kind of nutrition. I never liked cooking until I became a vegan, but I love it now!

Try to eat plenty of foods with a good balance of protein and fiber. Hormel actually makes a vegetarian chili that has a perfect balance of both. Pop some Fritos in the bowl (which are also vegan) and you have a delicious, vegan frito pie! :)

Vegetables, nuts and seeds, beans and rice, fruits.

I've never heard of a cereal that's NOT vegan. O_o

Source(s): Veganism? Expensive? Canned and frozen veggies + bagged beans and rice is the cheapest diet there is.

Are your parents supportive of you going vegan? If not, then you should delay going vegan until you move out of your parents house.

You need to get your protein from a wide variety of sources (different nuts, beans, soy, lentils), to ensure you are getting all the amino acids you require. You need to insure you are getting enough fats and oils, and you need to insure that you aren't eating too much refined sugar or processed foods. This is a lot of things to keep an eye on. If your parents aren't onboard, you are too young to go vegan.
