Do Jews think man is not sinful, not in need of saving/salvation? Jewish question that was deleted?

The whole human face is/was in need of salvation simply because they are 1) dying 2) sinful, making mistakes, even killing others.

Back in Genesis and throughout most of history, humans have wanted to know good and evil for themselves. Gen. 3:4, 5.

It is obvious that humans need saving since sickness and death is all they have. And now, they are polluting and damaging the earth so badly, it is also in need of saving. As Rev. 11:18 says he shall destroy them which destroy the earth.

In the Bible, hell is only the grave and all get out of it. Rev. 20:13, 14.

The hope for life for most is a righteous paradise earth, not heaven. Isaiah 65:17-66:1.

If one believes Genesis is only allegory, only a story, there is no hope for mankind, no purpose for religion which is to save people from death and give them eternal life.

The Hebrew scriptures constantly called God the Savior and redeemer, etc. It occurs numerous times.

So the need of saving, a savior and humans not doing right is common. It is common even to atheists. They just tend to call it making mistakes, trial and error, not knowing as much as one should. Many call it imperfection. The concept of humans messing up and doing wrong is in every ideology there is. That is why there are courts, jails, police, etc.

Update:

I am only trying to understand what kind of point someone else was making on a deleted question.

I have also had Jewish believers tell me many different versions of what hell is: Some saying separation from God, others only the grave, eternal death. And some have taken the immortal soul (Greek philosophy teaching) while others have never heard of it and don't know what it means.

Is Kabbalah supposed to be a mainline Jewish religion? I have heard it states that there are always 36 righteous people on earth and God isn't supposed to destroy until the number falls below that.

You do not understand the Jewish thinking behind the issues which you are discussing, likely because you are trying to see them through your own viewpoint.

So here is some of the basis.

In Jewish thought, Man, as soon he is born, is given what is called a "Yetzer Hara" or Evil Inclination as a balance to his Yetzer Tov (Good inclination). The purpose of the Yetzer Hara is to try to convince man to sin and man's duty is then to not listen. In doing so, man is given free will because without it, the default position would be to do good as an automaton.

Things being what they are, nobody's perfect, thus even the righteous will sin.

The next step is what is called "Teshuvah" or repentance.

answer: Your "complete Jewish Bible' is a fraudulent piece of work that dishonors the Christian Bible and Judaism both.

Equating Jesus with a human sacrifice is offensive, actually.

If a person believes that a blood sacrifice were necessary in order for Gd to forgive human sin, then that person forgot to study the Five Books of Moses. Even a single example where Gd forgave without a blood sacrifice would prove that this idea is unbiblical. There are many such examples, but the most interesting is found in the Book of Leviticus. The reason this is so interesting is that it appears right in the middle of the discussion of sin sacrifices. In Leviticus 5:11-13, it states, 'If, however, he cannot afford two doves or two young pigeons, he is to bring as an offering for his sin a tenth of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering.' In Jonah 3:10, we also see that one does not need a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. There, the Bible simply states that Gd saw the works of the people of Niniveh. Specifically it says that these works consisted of abandoning their evil ways, and because they did, Gd forgave them. There are many other examples. Therefore, as was stated earlier, the idea that one needs a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins is unbiblical.

"Romans"? What's that? Quoting the NT to prove the NT is ridiculous circular logic

"Yesurun" is a made up term as well

Source(s): http://whatjewsbelieve.org/explanation2.html Kabbalah is not a religion. There is no hell. There is no original sin. There is NO divine "savior"

It is not that Jewish people believe that man does not sin, but that man is not born stain with an original sin.

We are born pure, yes we make mistakes and need to repent, make things right between us and those we wronged.

The word translated into English as salvation means military victory or National rescue. It is G*D alone that gives National rescue and/or military victory. G*D alone is our Savior. As G*D has given us military victories and rescued the Nation of Israel numerous times.

Most people who have read the Bible only in English think they know what it says.

    But do they?

Translations from the original Hebrew have often changed the text’s intended meaning in significant ways. Take, for example:

    * “The Lord is my shepherd”—the modern concept of shepherd is not what the biblical authors intended

    * “Thou shalt not covet”—coveting is not what’s forbidden in this commandment

    Where did things go wrong?

The problem began with the King James Version of the Bible (KJV). Commissioned in 1604 by King James of England and published in 1611, this literary classic still forms the basis of most biblical translations in English, including that of the Jewish Publication Society (JPS). This is problematical, first because English usage has changed so much in the past 400 years, rendering some of the original translations inaccurate; and second, because the KJV translators made serious translation mistakes that have been retained in contemporary English translations.

In short, the biblical shepherd was a “hero.”

By substituting “hero” for “shepherd,” we can make sense of the rest of the Psalm. “The Lord is my hero; I shall not want.” In other words, since God—like a ro’eh —is powerful enough to provide protection, guidance, and security, I’ll have nothing to worry about.

xtians changed it to promote their own agenda

The Story of ET - the xtian delusion of complete translation

Bereshit Bara Eloheim Et - IN A BEGINNING G-D CREATED ET. These are the first words of Torah, Genesis 1:1, ET was not translated by christian translators, they had no understanding of its meaning, so they just left it out. (So much for the thought voiced in Deuteronomy 8:3 that man lives by every word of G*D - for the translators stole G*D's words from you - no big deal to them !) ET is spelled Aleph Tav. Aleph Tav is an abbreviation for the ALPHA-BET. Aleph is the first letter of the ALPHABET and Tav the last. So in a beginning G-d created the ALPHA-BET. And G-d did this before creating the heavens and the earth. G-d used the letters, the building blocks, to create the world. Also the original Hebrew was written without vowels, an alternate reading of Bereshit Bara Eloheim Et - is For the sake of Torah and Israel. Which would make the first line a dedication to those whom it was written.

Your premise for people being sinful, and your misunderstanding and mis-contextualizing of my Bible are so astonishing that I don't even know where to begin.
