Court for speeding ticket help!!?

So tomorrow I'm planning on going to court to appeal a speeding ticket for 75+ on a 65mph highway. But the problem is I did not show up to my court date. If I were to say I never got anything in the mail be a good answer? ALSO on the actual ticket the officer wrote a time for the court but left the court date section BLANK. So if I were to say I did not know at all would that be good? I have also tried to call te court many times but no answer whatsoever. He also did not check radar unit as his used device to radar me he only checked the MVARS (not sure what that means? If anybody who has gotten out of a ticket or knows about these things can please help me out it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Case law holds that anything placed in the mail will be delivered to the recipient, so saying you received nothing in the mail will not be a valid defense.

    I have some questions, though.

You say you are going to "..SAY I never got anything in the mail...". Sounds like you DID get something, you're just planning on saying you didn't. That's perjury. Good luck with lying in court.

Secondly, if your citation didn't have a court date on it, how do you know you missed your court date? Again, this all sounds very shady, and it sounds like you are lying.

Trying to fight about checking the radar unit is pointless in court.

It seems EVERYONE is at fault but you, for some reason.

Mobile Video/Audio Recording Systems (MVARS) is the system that most police now have in their car.

Best idea? Go down to the clerk of the traffic court, don't keep wasting time calling. Talk to them. They will probably just reschedule you. They don't want to hear you didn't get anything in the mail or that the officer left the date blank; most tickets have an automated number to call to get the date and time for the court date on them. They just don't want to hear it.

The easiest, quickest, and yes, cheapest way to handle this is to just pay the ticket. If they've added a penalty of some kind then you might want to see the judge and ask him to lower the fine and penalty. Also ask if they can send you to traffic school to keep the ticket off your record, or if they will lower it to a non-moving violation. Some will, some won't.

Always fight your traffic ticket, you are innocent until proving guilty. Cops often lied to get conviction in court but if you do your research and well prepare, you can beat any ticket in court. Sweet thing is this land rule by the law not by cops. They are just human like you and made mistake left and right too. It is time to stand up to your right and fight, don t be scare to take any plea they gave you.
