The Dark Side of the Universe: Could the soul be made of dark matter and/or dark energy?

Science has shown that 95% of the Universe is a mysterious combination of matter and energy completely unlike the matter and energy that we're familiar with -- and we only detect it indirectly.

This Shadow Stuff gives rise to my series of questions today. =^.^=

Update:

@Gazoo: Best point yet --

Dark matter indeed influences things with gravity.

Update 2:

@Kelly: I see you got the source I parodied to make the series title. ;o)

Dark matter has gravity, and thus is detectable. Dark energy has a force that we see, but don't really understand, but forces are detectable.

If you think they are there, you could prove it.

    Definitely not.

    Also:

Dark matter and dark energy aren't part of a combination. Dark energy causes accelerated expansion, and dark matter is responsible for certain observed gravitational effects.

Dark matter and dark energy do not destroy ordinary matter or energy on contact. For matter, that's caused by antimatter (which is *not* the same as dark matter), and energy is never destroyed. Ever. Also, energy isn't so much a tangible element of the universe as a property of nature. We only observe its effects.

Try to understand the science before making such claims.

    No.

While dark matter and energy are not very reactive, they or their effects can be detected, which is why we suspect that they exist. On the other hand, there is no reason to suspect that souls exist.

Bioelectricity, the energy your brain and nervous system run on. This energy is present in the chakras, astral body, energy body and the aura. These things together are what make the soul

I doubt it. All cognitive functioning and feelings can be measured with brain activity and hormones, thus proving that everything we think and feel is a physical process. Besides, dark matter and dark energy destroy matter and energy when they come into contact with each other.

No; Dark Matter and Dark Energy have nothing to do with that whatsoever, nor does a non-metaphorical "Soul" exist.

I believe that dark matter is actually a compilation of the human population's collective farts. Stop farting people. You're destroying the universe.

EDIT: Why have 3 people found this interesting? Dark Matter is just a label for all the extra mass in our calculations. There's absolutely nothing that suggests that it could be 'souls' or anything like that. It could be due to mass from a nearby universe (M-Theory) or we could just be missing something in our equations (think Newtonian mechanics vs Lagrangian mechanics). There could also just be just a different kind of particle we can't detect.

dark matter is jsut a theoretical construction to explain unexpected measurements of mass. It has no mystical properties at all. why couldnt the sould ismply be made of regular matter? oh...i know...u dont want it to be measurable.

It is made of dark cheese.

certainly an intriguing concept you have there! could explain why the soul (if it does exist) cant be detected.
