MLB:So what is the deal the Red Sox & Dodgers made?

Dodgers acquired 1B Adrian Gonzalez, RHP Josh Beckett, OF Carl Crawford, INF Nick Punto and cash considerations from the Red Sox for 1B James Loney, RHP Allan Webster, INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. and two players to be named later.
Reports have indicated that PTBNLs heading to Boston will be pitching prospect Rubby De La Rosa and outfield prospect Jerry Sands. Gonzalez is the biggest name in the nine-player blockbuster, and he comes with the biggest financial commitment. The 30-year-old perennial All-Star has $127 million remaining on his current deal and is under contract through the 2018 season. While Gonzalez has been a disappointment relative to his salary, he still managed an elite .895 OPS in 1,242 plate appearances with the Red Sox, and will significantly improve the Dodgers' chances of securing a playoff spot. Red Sox GM Ben Cherington is dumping a combined $260 million between the salaries of Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto.
