    Go to work at the Avionics shop, get assigned a writeup, go out to the aircraft, fix it there, or bring black boxes to the shop to fix them there, or order one from supply and take it back out to the aircraft, install, checkout the system, sign off the aircraft.. Some guys only work on aircraft out on the flightline, and some only work in the shop repairing black boxes.

    After 12 months of tech school, I did the above for 3 yrs at Loring, Kadena, Tan Son Nhut, Misawa, Kunsan, Shaw, & Phan Rang AFBs.
