How does the Trinity explain GOD not Choosing Himself?

Everyone usually agrees that Jesus is a High Priest correct? Yet Hebrews 5:4-5 says this about the position of High Priest and Jesus.

"And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He must be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was. 5 That is why Christ did not honor himself by assuming he could become High Priest. No, he was chosen by God,..."

How can Jesus, who is himself GOD, "not honor himself" with the position of High Priest and still be "chosen" by Himself?

Verse 8-10 says in part "Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered... and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek."

If the Father is also the Son and co-equal yet still ONE and the same how can Jesus not choose himself but still be chosen by GOD?

Update:

How does any of this answer my question? Someone posts that the Son isn't the Father and the Father not the Son but they are still ONE and it was the Father that chose the Son? How does that make any sense?

I do know for a fact scripturally that it's suposed to make some degree of understandable sense.

Luke 24:45 "Then [Jesus] opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures."

Colossians 1:9b-10, 25-26

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people."

What does this mean to you? That you should

Update 2:

@Gismol- As you stated each has a "rank". Rank is used to determine superior from inferior. If there are indeed 3 persons, distinct, and communicate with each other and there is also rank between them then there is no longer 1 being. There is 1 being (Father) with 2 subordinates.

1 Corinthians 15:28 "Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere."

Jesus becomes a citizen of his Fathers' kingdom. How is that co-equal?

You are confusing "distinct Persons" with Divine Nature. God IS distinct Persons who can communicate to each other with mutually agreed upon roles or functions. They are also distinct in rank, but all are coequal in only one uncreated Divine Nature. Distinct in Person, but coequal in only one Divine Nature. Otherwise, there is no purpose to even having multi Persons in God.

One Hebrews 7 makes a subtle difference between Godhead in person the eternal creator and the son of man in the David's line of priesthood ; only as a Priest forever after the order of Melchisedek. In other words to be a Priest forever after the order of Melchisedek means you can't be an immortal ( without Father without Mother without descent ) like Godhead in person was is and shall be , the sole immortal . Godhead in person IS Melchisedek . Jesus is a Priest forever AFTER the order of Melchisedek .

Ask this question the unbelievers who attempt to separate me from God through utilizing the historic testament to convey accusation in opposition to Him and they inform me to disclaim Him If God had chosen someone else would they have got emerge as God within the flesh too? No handiest God can come to be God a creature not ever can end up God

Jesus, who is himself God..." ?????

Jesus is not nor ever could be God (and I do not care what scripture attests)

Correct me but wasn't Jesus the 'Son' of god ?

So you are telling me that god gave birth to himself ?

    So to straighten me out

    1) Jesus was the son of god.

    2) Jesus died (mortal) and the spirit rose to join the father in heaven

    3) How can he rise to join himself ? [ co-joined twins perhaps ?]

    4) What you have stated is simply tosh.

    5) God said [quite adamantly] that he is the one and only true god and that you should never praise [is that a good term ?] anyone but him.

    6) Only him did not mean "lets get an extra couple of bits and have christ and the wholly ghost too"

    7) Praise god, praise him. Sod these spirits, angels, saints even christ himself ! God you believe in, god you pray to all other is hogwash !

    so ends the lesson (lol)

The Son did not choose the Son, but the Father. The Son willingly followed the Father's choice. They are both one God, but the Father is not the Son, and the Son is not the Father.

He needed to keep himself separate from the high priests because they were corrupt and power-hungry, part of his mission on earth was to fix that corruption

    1 John 5:1-6

    New International Version (NIV)

Faith in the Incarnate Son of God

5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

6 This is the one who came by water and blood —Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

6 This is the one who came by water and blood —Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
