Back up camera on Buick?

I bought a wired B/U camera for my 2008 Buick Lucerne with the intention of installing it myself. After looking into the wiring system I begin to have my doubts. Can anyone give me some pointers on this? I still think I can do it with a bit of instructions. The instructions that came with it were skimpy at best. I know the connections I need are:

1 - hot wire from back up light for camera + ground (find the bulb and connect the wire. I think I can do that)

2 - hot wire and ground + reverse hot wire and ground for monitor. (The big problem)

The rest is just connecting the two units together with the cable. Finding the connections up front on the Buick is my problem.

well it either gets wired into the ignition so it turns on when the car does but you may need to make your own connections and wiring harness on some type of fuse so you dont short everything out. It helps to have some experience in video so you know what you are doing of course. Start asking your family and friend find someone who knows more than you do and get the job done right.

It being a 2008 model. You may want to have a dealership look it. Not saying your incompentant. Its just that these newer cars use mainly serial data to do its work, there are a few power/ground circuit but a bunch are communication wires. Those you do not want to splice in. A ground or power to those wires can bring all the modules down. You will need a schematics to look for the reverse wire, usually at the TCM is the best place for it.
