Why is there no date & time imprint on the newer digital HD video camcorders?

Like it had on the miniDV and other tape camcorders?

Update:

At least they should give it in options. People don't have enough time to edit it with a software and put the exact date and time on video manually.

    There is.

It is included in the meta-data of the files you create, provided you set the date and time accurately. So, when you see a list of videos, you can also see a list of date/time info. Some cameras can also log GPS info.

If you are not editing, some cameras can display the date/time/frame info on playback, check your users manual.

Because it's just annoying... it pisses people off. If you really want it, you can use VLC to get an overlay over the video whilst it's playing, or use some video-editing software to put it on top permanently.
