storage problem, please, got any ideas to help me?
Hi, Ive moved thru financial necessity into a tiny 2 room apartment. I am not a clutterer, but am so challenged as to just find a way to keep the basic necessities of life hidden away so the small space doesnt look so messy, There is very little cabinet space and only one small closet which needs to hold EVERYTHING. Getting another apartment isnt an option as this is senior housing and I am grateful to finally live where I can afford to.
Also I like nice surroundings, it elevates one's mood to be in a pretty place so dont wish to fill it with cheap metal storage cabinets like some my neighbors have that look so industrial. I have already bought bed risers and used the space under the bed for out of season clothing and extra kitchen items I do need. Bless you for any ideas that may have worked for you. right now I have things a few plastic storage bins and bags. It's acceptable now where I just moved in people understand, but I am not happy having it this way forever. The few neighbors apartments I have seen are either majorly cluttered or very industrial looking like a warehouse with all those metal cabinets,. Paring down isnt an option as I have already had charities haul away all I dont need. (and I dont need much). The apartments were built for seniors over 50 years ago when folks didnt have tv,s stereos, microwaves, coffee makers and all the things that we need these days. (and even then were much too small, I hear.) Easy to heat (hooray here in New England) but so hard to look pretty as well as neat. Bless you , I will be so grateful for any and all suggestions.

I would buy a modern looking chest with a lid on it and a couple of draws and double it up as a coffee table and storage cabinet for magazine's and photos
