Stevia is derived from a herb and has been used for centuries by other countries. It is safer than Splenda. I think the liquid form of Stevia tastes better than Splenda. The FDA doesn't want it approved as a food ingredient because there's no money for them to make with a herb. Look at Splenda, it's toxic for us, yet the FDA approved it because of big business lobbyists and corporate taxes funding their operation.

I agree with Turnip Fan that Stevia is just as processed as any other artificial sweetener. Granted it does come from a plant, but we don't know how they manage to get it into it's powder or granular form. It is safe enough I guess, but the first time I tried it, I thought it had a bad after taste. I bought some recently that is mixed with sugar, and it has no aftertaste, but you do get a little bit of sugar with it.

I like Stevia, but prefer the taste and texture of Splenda and that I can use Splenda in baking. Stevia is really great for coffee or tea, though =)

You sheep. Stevia IS NOT NATURAL. Its highly processed from a plant. Don't be so gullible.

I use it normally every day in my coffee and I am still alive. So, it's definitely safe to use. You only live once so enjoy it!
