Same like Jesus, Christian God, Buddha, Allah, Lord Shiva, Kukulkan, and all other gods around the world......they only exist in children fables and fiction novels eg.The Bible.

no longer via truthfully everyone-- i'm a Hellenistic Pagan, there are a number of people who have faith in and worship the Greek Gods. That pronounced, do no longer confuse delusion with Gods... myths are thoughts correct to the Gods. human beings make up myths-- they have which skill and allegory. The Gods are previous human comprehension nevertheless. many human beings have faith the Bible is likewise mythology. It only so occurs that Christians grew to become a majority, and that they take their myths actually.

Because they are fictional. Who would nowadays believe that the sky is a solid dome above the earth? That's how the Greeks viewed it.... Who would believe that Hercules once held the sky on his shoulders, and till now, someone (Atlas) holds the sky on his shoulders. But science has proven that the sky does not need support. The Greeks also viewed Earth as a flat ground, science has proven that it is round. The Greeks thought that thunder is a result of Zeus' anger. But we know perfectly well, that it is the change of weather. That's why they are called myths, since they are fictional stories.

Now the stories of Christianity are also hard to believe in, but the important thing is that they believe in one Supreme God. Nowadays all the religion are monotheistic (the belief in one god, not many). That's why all the polytheistic religions (the belief in many gods) are considered myths. It is easier to believe in one God that is omnipotent, all capable then in many gods, each of whom responsible for a specific role.

A Myth is basically a foundational story that tends to have a certain theological or moral purpose to it. So, in reference to the Greek Gods, it is proper to myths, because of the fact that many of the stories about them are probably reflections of the many problems and issues that arose in Greek society

More than likely those mythical characters (some of them) probably lived. Remembrance of those people probably turned to hero-worship and then myth. Some of Egypt's gods can be seen the same way. We do know a "Ra" existed, and was King of Egypt during the first civilization.

because MEN in high position decided they were so Monotheism would be the only path. Too bad for them that people still honor the old Deities.
