My Daughter asked me to choose a song for us to dance to at her wedding. What do you think of my selection?

She told me to choose whatever song I liked, for our Father Daughter dance. I like Classic Rock very much. As a rocker, the band Bread was always one of my guilty pleasures. I think they wrote some of the best lyrics, even though many of them were tear jerking, soft rock, love songs. The lyrics to this virtually unknown Bread song seem pretty perfect for this occasion. Keep in mind, my Daughter is almost 30 years old and she had several long term boyfriends before meeting this great guy, who is a couple of years older than her. Thoughts?

Update 2:

@Everybody Sucks: That was the most useless, meaningless, pointless rant I have ever heard. What the hell does women giving men sex have to do with anything? My daughter is almost 30 years old. She has been in several long term relationships. I'm sure he has had plenty of sex with every one of her past boyfriends. She has lived with her fiancee for several years. Nobody in this scenario is a virgin or sex deprived, except for you. My Daughter has been waiting to find the right guy to marry and now she has found him. I talked to my Daughter. She loved the song. She understood that I meant for the song to be a metaphor. I don't mean for the song to be taken literally, in the present tense. It's not meant to say, keep waiting until you find the right one. It's a song about a Father giving his Daughter advice, not to marry the first guy she sees. and to choose the right guy. My Daughter has listened to that advice and she will now marry the type of guy in the song. The ri

Hmm...I'm not getting the Bread song when I go to that link. Help?

UPDATE: Absolutely sweet and charming! And plenty of younger people at the wedding are going to roll their eyes and think you're an old fart, and that's too damn bad. I would cry out of happiness if my dad played this for our dance. I do suggest you have the lyrics available for everyone to see. It might turn the snickers into sobs. Make sure tissues are available!

    Congratulations!

Love Bread, love that song, you are right, that is not one that is well known.

It talks however, that the right man is still to come. And he is already there, standing right at the edge of the dance floor.

And I'm not sure your daughter will want it pointed out that she had to wait so long for the right one to come along.

so talk to her, and play the song, and ask her point blank if this is good for her. If it is, you are done looking!

I used your link, and went looking for another bread song. "Everything I Own" which would be your daughters words to you, came really close, right up to the point that she was giving up her house home and life to get back to you.

Type "wedding music" or "father daughter dance" into your browser, they have lists and lists of music, the lists are free, the music is not necessarily free. Maybe you will find one there.

Used to dream of having "If" played at my wedding.
