Why is it that 9/11 was blamed on Bush?

when he had only been President for 7 months

BUT

our worsening economy is NOT blamed on Obama when he's been in office for nearly 4 YEARS??

at what point, Leftists, does a Democrat have to take ownership of a crisis?

Update:

ok: so Clinton left Bush a memo = Bush 'knew' = BAD BAD BUSH

but

Obama campaigned for two entire years telling us he knew how to fix the economy = Obama 'knew' = BAD BAD BUSH

seriously?

The World Trade Center was bombed in 1993 when Clinton was in office. Democrats don't hold him responsible for that, but they hold Bush responsible for the 2001 attack.

I don't recall people "blaming" Bush for the September 11, 2001 attacks, with the possible exception of the conspiracy theory nuts that say it was a government inside job perpetrated by the CIA. That being said, it is a fact that President Clinton was warned about the threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda years before the attack and did not take action to take him out when he had the opportunity. For Clinton, It was about the Economy, stupid!; and the threats to our national security weren't that high on his priority list. Like you said Bush was in his first year when the attacks were made and he done a good job at bringing a nation together in the most unthinkable of situations. It took a little while to get our intelligence gathering up to speed and understand the true magnitude of the threats that we faced and be able to respond. Remember that after the Gulf War in 1991 we done what we do after every war ... reduction in forces. Under the Clinton government we began to decimate our military capability, we began to force banks under federal guarantees to make money available to everyone to buy a house so they could have their share of the American dream and the "housing Bubble" started to expand. The simple facts of the economic crises is that a hard-line Democrat will tell you that the surplus of Bush's first year in office was because of Clinton and the over 5 Trillion in deficit spending over four years under Obama is Bush's fault and all the un-kept promises of the 2008 election are because they just "didn't know how bad the situation really was". Personally the "kept" promise of Obama-care scares me more than the broken ones.

"Well, Bush did get that memo about bin Laden planning to attack"

    Somebody forgetting Bill Clinton?

Anyway, Bush is blamed for the Holocaust, dinosaur extinction, global warming, Crucifixion, sinking of Atlantis, AIDS in Africa, Pearl Harbor, the Great Depression, earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, mass shootings, the Crusades and just about everything else throughout history so why stop at 9/11?

Obama knew about the recession too, but of course that one's Bush's fault too.

EDIT: He came into office with the warning already given to Clinton, dumbass.

EDIT: Did an Obama-worshipper REALLY just comment on "national debt"??

Because Bill Clinton left Bush a memo titled, "bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S." and old W either ignored it and threw it away or was too dumb to understand the pages without pictures. Clinton took a shot at bin Laden.

On the other hand, the economy was falling apart well before Obama took office. We were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every month, bailing out Wall St., and watching the housing market collapse. All of this was happening under Bush's watch. He also left the war in Iraq off the books so he wouldn't take immediate credit for the way he devistated the national debt.

Obama gets blamed for every job lost since the nanosecond he took office. Romney did it in his speech last night. So I don't know what you are talking about.

    PS

The economy did not tank until near the end of the 2008 election season so no, Obama did not spend 2 years campaigning on fixing the economy. More like 2 months.

Because the Republicans of today are not the Republicans of 25 years ago. The extreme Republican Tea Bagger base and their underlying tone of hate, racism, homophobia and propaganda is closer to the Nazi party than it is to Reagan. You will notice that all of my "thumbs down" on this comment will most likely come from Tea Baggers.

Republicans always say "These are Obama's failures" and still fight Bush's failures because most get their information from GOP soundbites and not actual fact. When confronted with fact, they get all upset about "all those liberals doin' all that thinkin' " and they revert back to the only soundbites they know. They don't bother researching the facts - they get their fill of hate and misinformation from Fox News and then go immediately back to watching Ice Road Truckers.

He was in charge at the time. Public officials need to be held accountable for their job performance, and not guaranteed employment if they do their jobs edit: ineffectively. I personally never blamed Bush II for 9/11, although I'm sure a few group thinking commies would believe or interpret what I have said, as blaming him personally.

edit: I've been a Republican longer than I've been a Democrat. I'm a little concerned about the modern efforts of the Republican party.

Bush didn't come into office with a burning building. He let that happen on his own.
