What should I have for my first beer?
I know it may sound bizarre, I have never had any alcohol before, I just turned 21 and I plan to have some for the first time tomorrow. But I have no idea what is the best to consume, I have no idea what beers are better than others. I tend to prefer stronger tasting coffee, pop, and energy drinks. But I'm not sure if i'll prefer stronger beers as well.
So what do you think would be the best choice?

If you can find a bar, brewery, or restaurant that serves smaller sample sizes, it's a really fun way to see what kind of tastes you might have.
Breweries have this as a set-up, but some restaurants (YardHouse, I think?) have the option too.
Otherwise, it's also fun to get into beer with the type of food you're having. Mexican food and have a corona or bohemia or something, kind of all part of the experience, as opposed to drinking beer just to be drinking.
As far as my favorite, probably not great for starting out, I like the bitter IPAs. Some great stuff out there, someone mentioned Stone, they do make good beer, but if you're not a fan of the bitter hops, might not be ready for them (same with a lot of west coast breweries). I can't stand Blue Moon, it's made by Coors lt folks, but a lot of people love the stuff, so maybe that is a good one to start?
My first beer was actually a cider, Hornsby. Tastes like Martinellis!

First beer I would recommend some form of lager. It's pretty light tasting. Avoid stouts, or ales, they are very dark. But As you stated you like strong coffee, you might prefer dark beer.
Most liquor stores and grocery stores sell 12 packs from Sam Adams that contain a few varieties of beers. Pick one of those up and give each a try and see what you like..

Sierra Nevada is pretty great. Their Pale Ale, Torpedo Extra IPA, and Ruthless Rye IPA are all great beers.
I also recommend trying stuff from Stone Brewing Co. if it's available in your area.

I enjoy land shark or Heineken ... I think "imported" beer tastes better... American beer, to me, taste watery... "imports" are more expensive but in my opinion worth the price
