Do you think this video will make Bettman eager to agree with the players?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWQs3O_IDas&feature...

I personally surprised myself having a tear at the end. I mean Janne Makonnen is a fantastic video editor, do you think if it reached the owners and Bettman they would want to solve the problem?

BQ: Also, outside of NHL is there a league/a sport you follow seriously?

I watched this video and had two thoughts.

    1) If the players presented this to the NHL they would have one hell of a law suit against them. All the images in this video are property of the NHL The NHLPA would lose millions in a law suit.

    2) at 7:17 of this video there is a message superimposed. "It is not about the money, it is about the memories that last a life time." That is complete BS. It is all about the money not about the 57% percent that the owners feel is their rightful share but about the $12MM dollars that Suter, Parise, Myers, and Richards get, the $14MM that Weber gets even the $8MM that Ehrhoff is paid.

The NHL players have a distorted view of life. We the fans stand and cheer them like heroes. They begin to think that they are heroes. They feel that they are worth the absurd salaries that we the fans pay them. When they ask for more we scream at the owners to give them more. When the owners have to raise the price of our tickets, parking, beer, or hot dogs we scream at the owners to stop gouging us. When the owners do what is in their rights to stop from going bankrupt we again scream at them to not stop our "right" to hockey.

What about the real heroes in our world today. There have been 3169 coalition casualties in Afghanistan since hostilities began. Assuming each soldier was paid a mere $100,000 a year that total salary would be $317MM or the salary cap of 4.5 NHL teams. We know that those real heroes were paid much less than that $100K, let's show our appreciation where it is due. Cheer a vet boo an athlete.

The only thing that will change Bettman's mind his a dump truck stacked with $100's.

I follow the NFL but not like the NHL.
