No thus due to the fact that the 3ds is a brand new platform meaning that if the ds have been reverse play nintendo will be dropping money. So only dsi and down rather than that you are going to nto be equipped to play a 3ds game via a lite. However you may most likely play a ds recreation by means of your 3ds.

Yes. Nintendo tends to make things backwards compatible. wii can play gamecube, 3ds can play ds, ds can play gba, gba can play gbc etc..
