Would a 2 year old enjoy a 3D movie?

My daughter is almost 2. Finding Nemo is her absolute favorite movie. It's coming out in 3D in a couple of weeks, and I wonder whether it would be worth the money and trouble to take her to see it. She has never been to a movie before, but she IS able (if she's well-fed and otherwise comfortable) to sit through the movie. I think it would be a good opportunity to take her to her first movie, but would she be able to see the 3D? Or should I just wait for the next animated flick to come along?

Update:

She wears sunglasses with little hassle, so if they make glasses small enough for her, she'd likely leave them on.

I made the mistake of taking my toddler to the movies once. Never again!!

And I don't think they do make the glasses that small.

Of course she can see the 3D! 2 year olds have eyes, too! But, she is only two. She doesn't have OCD and taking her to a theater at this age is an obvious no-no! You will just aggravate the families and their children who are there, trying to watch the movie. Then you'll have to leave and waste your money. I have to say, reading your previous questions was a little frustrating. You treat your baby like she's an older child. Worrying about religion and definately worrying if your not even 2 year old has OCD is really ridiculous. You're so worried about the stupidest stuff that I actually worry about her. If she does end up having a problem, maybe you should point your accusations towards the mirror.

I took my little girl to a 3D movie when she was about 18 months and she was okay through most of the film.

Honestly, no. Even if she loves the movie it's different watching it in a theater than in the comforts of your own home.

  • Nope. My brother used to take the glasses off all the time. It was such a waste.

2 year olds should not go to the theater. They are too disruptive.
