How can anybody expect things to get done, or for there to be any kind of compromise, or for any type of tone to change surrounding our government, if one side makes it clear that their only goal is to oust the guy currently in charge? They can disagree with somebody but still be able to work with them, can't they?

Plus, during that time they had their so-called super majority, Ted Kennedy was very sick and generally unable to be present to vote. So in reality, they didn't have enough seats to break the filibusters. Having congressional majority does not mean that you simply can get your agenda through because it requires a percentage of the vote, not just majority, in order to pass. If you had any working knowledge of our government, you would know that.
Republicans have blocked jobs measures that would help everybody simply because they don't want to give President Obama anything to hang his hat on. If America succeeds while he is in office, that is bad for Republicans. If America fails while Obama is in office, that is good for them because it would supposedly get Obama out of offic
