Baby naming trends you hate?

I'm bored, so I decided to do a little opinion poll here to see what people think. It's meant to be fun, so do not get offensive. What baby naming trends do you hate the most and why? I'll start

1. Unisex names, because I have one, and growing up with it sucked.

2. Parents who name their girls spices (Sage, Clover, Cinnamon) only because it's something you cook with. I love spices too, but it is just too weird.

HATE girl names on boys. I see Jude as a girl name, Madison, etc. It may have started out as a boy name, but now it is mainly used for girls so I do not like that.

Yeah, I don't like the spices either.

Or the "yoo-neek" spelling of things. Jaxon is a disgrace, as is Anjilina.

I dislike unisex names, but even more I dislike obvious boy names on girls, such as Mason, Micheal, Spencer etc.

On the other hand I do not mind unique names. I hate when people name their kid Emily and spell it Emilee and think that is making it stand out, because its not! Emily was the #1 baby name from 1996-2007 so there is nothing unique about it! So to add to this I also hate the trend of naming your baby in the top 5 names because you are so afraid to be different!

People are so funny calling certain names trendy when its the top 5 baby names that are the trendy ones. 20 years from now all the Emily's, Emma's, and Sophia's are going to be viewed as the trend of he 2000's just as all the Jennifer's, and Jessica's of the 80's!

    1. Boys' names on girls that are SPECIFICALLY boys' names. Evelyn is originally a boys' name but means "life" and does not sound very masculine, unlike Madison which means "son of Maude".

    2. "yoo-neek"/illiterate spellings.

    3. Blatant association names such as Vegas, Jesus, and Adonis. I atomatically think of the most common bearer.

In reply to your 2: I actually rather like "word names", most names were originally words so I see no problem with them, as long as you take in the sound and not just the meaning and vice versa. I have never used sage as a spice...I only learnt recently that you could! In my culture sage is a very important plant, to honor that I would like to use Sage as a middle name. I do agree that Cinnamon is a tad strange though.

Aiden/Aaden, Braden/Brayden/Braeden, Kayden/Caden/Cayden/Kaden, Hayden, Jaden/Jayden, etc. those are SO in demand proper now, and that i believe undesirable for the toddlers with those names. Their names will be SO dated at the same time as they're adults. there is going to be a million little boys/women in each and every kindergarten type in about 5 years with the 'aaden' sound of their call. Ick! C'mon, people, have some originality! I also hate the craze the position the 'i's in a attractiveness are being replaced with 'y's. Like Ryley, Jaymes, Caitlyn, etc. Ugh, that is SO trailer trash and it makes the mothers and fathers seem so illiterate -- and they imagine they're being 'unique'!

This might just be because I grew up around it...

But, I like boy names on boys. Maddison, Sasha, Joceline, Ashley. These are BOY names. People might not agree with me, but that's how it is.

I don't like unisex names either. They're confusing.

Crazy spelling get my OCD running rampant.

I also hate filler names. Marie, Claire, Rose, Lee, Ann. And so on.

I take the meaning of names seriously, so if I see a little girl named Porscha, I'm gunna think "piggy".

    1. Unique Spellings because it's just irritating.

    2. Matchy names for multiples because they're going to grow up and be individuals.

    3. I kind of hate -ayden names. I like Aidan and Hayden. Any other ones I really don't like. I don't really like them because there's so many of them.

    4. Siblings with the same letters because I just don't get why they have to have the same letter. I feel like it takes away individuality.

As for unisex names or boys names on girls I like them. My name is Stevie and I'm a girl. I absolutely love my name. My mom loves unisex names. I think that's where I get it from.

    1. "Unique" Spellings- Spelling Jackson Jaxsynn does not make it original, it makes it trashy.

    2. Having the whole family have a "theme". If you legitimately like the names Lily and Violet that's one thing, but naming your daughter Petunia because it "goes" with the other names is something that I wouldn't do.

    3. People making up their own names. There are literally thousands of names in the world. There has to be ONE that you like! Naming your kid something that sounds like you just smashed your face on the keyboard and called it a day is so mean to the child, along with whoever attempts to pronounce it.

I hate misspelled names to make the unique

It does not make the name unique, it makes spelled wrong

I hate common dogs name on people like Princess or Coca

I hate common name of one sex on the other

Naming a boy Ashley is just as bad as naming a girl Ryan

I hate boys names on girls, more so when you butcher the spelling to make it feminine, changing Ryan to Ryane does NOT make it a girls name >:( I also hate youneek spellings, I have one and it really sucked, I mean it's an unusual name to begin with so spelling it in a different way just made it worse growing up!

I hate when twins names are matchy! They have to sound good together, yeah, but when they match? Ugh! I also hate it (with rare exception) when people spell names "uniquely". It's not unique it's trashy. On the other hand I like unisex names.
