Is the Signature at MGM Grand as good as I'm thinking it's going to be? And what do you think of resort fees?

Thinking of staying here, I kno it's a bit of a walk to the center of the strip but that seems ok.

Is it stylish etc.

And what is your view of resort fees? Are they a total rip off or just a different way of pricing things

MGM Grand has been remodeled and it's really stylish, hip and very popular amongst young crowds. You will not be disappointed. The resort fee is a total rip off; it used to be ok (covering wi-fi for one computer or 2, depending on the resort, use of the gym and free local calls) when it was around 10 dollars; now it's usually 20 dollars and up for the more popular resorts on the Strip at least, and that's really expensive in my opinion. Moreover, whilst in the past it used to include a free spa pass, now you have to pay for those services. Finally, in resorts like Mirage, the resort fee barely covers the use of a cardio room (and Internet of course), whilst the weight room cannot be access unless you pay an additiona charge. I have to say, the MGM group are really going over the top with their resort fees. Let's hope it's temporary!

The Signature is really nice, and you will probably be quite happy with it if you are already aware of the walk to the strip. The rooms are beautiful and very modern.

Resort fees suck, but there's not much you can do about them - those hotels that charge them make them mandatory, whether you use the services (paper, internet, gym, etc) or not. They are essentially a way of making the base room rate lower, which makes the price more attractive. The Caesars group hotels in Vegas still do not charge resort fees. Resort fees are common in Vegas, but they are popping up all over now. We had them at a basic chain hotel in Charleston, SC last year.

Both are inside a million/two mile of one another. Mandalay Bay is additional south at the strip however you'll be able to stroll to many areas. Those you are not able to stroll to are handy to arrive by means of taxi. The MGM has one of the vital fine buffets on the town. I have heard that the suites are very exceptional and big, however have not had an possibility to stick. The Mandalay Bay is principally expensive. They have one of the vital fine swimming pools on the town and is most likely a excellent situation to look and be obvious. It's greater than a pool. It's 3 swimming pools and a wave pool with a sand seaside. You'll put out of your mind you are in Vegas and believe you are on a few tropical island. Maybe now not, however it's exceptional. Given the option, I might keep on the Mandalay Bay.

Well it isn't on the Strip, it's behind it. And it only has 4 stars from Forbes while Mandarin Oriental, Skylofts at MGM, Tower Suites at Encore, and Tower Suites at Wynn got 5 stars. So it wouldn't be the best place in town. Even AAA which gave its highest 5 diamond rating to 10 places, didn't give its highest rating to Signature.

And for the most part resort fees are a total rip-off. Most of the time they include things that most other hotels give everyone for free or things I have no need for. Or they include things that even non-guests get. Some hotels have the nerve to say that the resort fee includes free parking. Everyone gets free parking. One said it included notary service. How many people need stuff notarized while they're in Vegas. It might include internet, but if you don't need internet or wouldn't use it every day I think it's a waste. I no longer stay at hotels with a resort fee.

If the pricing is comparable I suggest switching to Wynn/Encore or Venetian/Palazzo.

"Signature" has no casino and no personality. MGM is too crowded and too touristy.

Resort fees are a way of inflating the cost of the room. Staying at high priced properties like Signature, however, they're not a concern. It's just a small percentage of the total cost.

I have stayed there before. The room was very nice, with a lovely kitchenette and HUGE bathroom. Service was excellent at the hotel also. Not too bad of a walk to MGM then the strip.

Resort fees suck, but I do always use the gym, pool and wifi access at hotels so I don't complain too much.

The MGM is ok but you are at the end of where everything is happening. You can taxi it if you want. For the price you are paying see what kind of deal you can get elsewhere. If you want really high class the top three are Venetian, Bellagio, Wynn. Now, you can go cheap and stay at a lot of places like Hooter for $24-35 Mon-Thursday and sometimes for free. Check it out.
