Can my laptop handle games?
My parents just bought me a new laptop which is an MSI - CR630, having heard nothing of MSI before and my dad knowing someone who can offer a deal on the laptops, bought me one.
I've never been much of a laptop person or a desktop gamer minding that so I was wondering if this could handle games well.
CPU : II Dual-Core P340
RAM : 2GB
HDD: 250GB
If any other requirements are needed, i'll try and find them.
Thanks.
Alex; Thanks but I was just planning on getting a Steam account and I have some games lying around somewhere. (Rome: Total War, Unreal, Warhammer)

Your processor is ok and ram is ok. However, you need your video card ram. I don't think it would be able to run high graphics games as they usually have a much better processor as dual core is pretty old. You might be able to run a few games but on minimum graphics settings, just try it.

Now this feels like a gaming computer ! I have one, and i gotta inform ya, a computer cooler is ought to, it will run beter also, should you get it, go into the "vigor saving settings" and ensure that your cpu is jogging on max. My computing device was walking on half cpu speed via default !! Also, verify our the reveal on the desktop, is it smooth or mat? Does it have good "viewing angles"(color changes when you look at it sideways) And dont spend like 2,000 greenbacks on a desktop unless you could particularly afford it. Rule of thumb, expect that your computing device is good for about 4-6 years then its time for an improve. I spent 800$ core i7, 1 gb dedicated video card, 500 gb HD, 4 gb ram, runs GTA IV max settings, but the viewing angles suck my testies.

It has the capabilities but it depends on your monthly download and if you are paying enough each month to allow you to download the games and play them - I have a Acer Notepad and it has the capabilities but I have a dongle from t-mobile on the fair user package but as soon as I download one game or view youtube a few times I will have used my download for the month. Normally I am on yahoo answers for hours each day and view several other pages maybe job-sites or the news and I never use my total monthly amount.

Not very well. You should be able to handle most games on low settings and SOME games on medium, but that's about it. So as long as you don't mind poor graphics, I suppose you'll get by with the majority of games.
