Transiting Pluto conjunct natal Neptune - what are your experiences?

This is a transit that a lot of people will and have gone through, and lots of people around my age are experiencing it right now. As Pluto approaches my own Neptune (Cap, 1st house), I'm suddenly sensing a lot of confusion in what I thought I wanted to do with my life and what kind of person I am. This is somewhat distressing but it's also a refreshing feeling, because I suddenly see a lot of possibilities that I didn't see before.

If you've been through this transit or you're going through it now, what are your experiences?

Did you sense a great upheaval in your beliefs or values? Was this a difficult thing?

Where is Neptune in your chart (sign, house?)

I have Neptune and Moon right on my Ascendant, so I'm going to say ahead of time that it's difficult to separate these natal conjunctions in describing transit Pluto conjunct all of them. Since my MC is ruled by the Moon, and I have Pluto in the 10th house natal, I went through drastic changes in my career and values. Pluto rules my 2nd house, and transit Uranus was conjunct the cusp of my 2nd, at the same time that transit Pluto was conjunct natal Ascendant, Moon and Neptune. There were a lot of connections between all of these going on at the time.

All in all, it felt good to me. I had been coming to terms with the fact that I had spent so many years studying physiology and related medical courses. I had changed my mind several times about what I wanted to do, looking for where I would finally feel settled and content. I was having issues because I had been hospitalized many times, and I was seeing a different viewpoint of the medical world. When Pluto was exact conjunct my Ascendant, Neptune and Moon, it suddenly occurred to me that I wanted to switch to physical sciences. That was to shape my life and career forever.

I think we would need to know what all is going to be aspected in your chart, but just from the Pluto transiting your 1st and Neptune, you're going to become much more assertive about what you want. One thing I kept in mind when I was going through what I mentioned above: If it's something worth having, it's worth the struggle to overcome obstacles.

Edit: As I stated before, there are many conjunctions and reciprocal aspects in my chart, so when transits hit my natal planets, there's more than one aspect going on.

I had to check the ephemeris and around 1983-1984 Transiting Pluto conjunct my Natal Scorpio Neptune at 0 degrees in 8th House. The cusp of my 8th House is also 0 degrees. And Neptune is the apex (point of resolution) in a Hard Aspect Formation T-Square with Mercury and Uranus.

As a musician I had always wanted to play in a band but due to self-doubt I hadn't ever attempted playing in a band as I was trained in the usual way by reading music. I had to learn to play "by ear" and fortunately the teachers appeared as the student (me) was ready.

I loved the "shiny and shimmering" Neptune Transformation that Pluto bulldozed through. But I found I was partying too much and then met the future father of my daughter and it was messy and some "good things" were lost as Pluto does love starting "from scratch."

So I feel Pluto gave me the GREAT desire to "change" my direction musically and it was a "heady" time and full of partying people. Getting attention. Making money. Paying my dues. Pluto "barged" slowly ahead and so did I.

A divorce followed this period of my life and I left the bars and had my daughter and all the "shiny illusion" of Neptune eventually disappeared. I compared the life of "attention" with the life of being a new mother, and I put my life on the back burner and she took the front burner. Still does!

And though I thought that I had "found" my passion in life through music, I found I had been given the greatest gift in my entire life. My daughter.

So I would suggest that during this transit, try to be aware that something will be transformed. Totally changed. And KNOW that at the end of this transit there will be a totally new "lifestyle" at the end of this transit. And the "conclusion" may not manifest immediately.

So I went from playing (in so many ways lol) in bars to suddenly emerge as one of the many unappreciated "lazy" Stay-at-Home Moms that receive no applause at the end of the day. Being a mother is pretty much a "selfless" way to live and but the applause is not missed when you hold your little baby and feel the BOND that never would have happened had I NOT gone through this Life-Changing Transformation.

So look out for what looks too "shiny" OR allow Pluto to bulldoze to his heart's content. But be prepared for The Transformation that takes away both the bad AND the good, and know that even you might end up at the other end of the spectrum but trust that Pluto knows what he's doing and though you may "lose" much, you will gain "something" that is of great worth.

Pluto "plants the seed" and Neptune "graces" the seed with more than is humanly possible.

Hope this is helpful. Good luck and bless you and may your transformation be beautiful. I wish you well.

Pluto is still a planet. Their decision was immediately opposed in a formal petition by hundreds of professional astronomers. These scientists favor a broader planet definition that includes any non-self-luminous spheroidal body in orbit around a star. The spherical part is important because objects become spherical when they attain a state known as hydrostatic equilibrium, meaning they are large enough for their own gravity to pull them into a round shape. This is a characteristic of planets and not of shapeless asteroids and Kuiper Belt Objects. Pluto meets this criterion and is therefore a planet. Using this broader definition gives our solar system 13 planets and counting: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris. At the very least, you should note that there is an ongoing debate rather than portraying one side as fact when it is only one interpretation of fact.

SaggiMC the teacher has just vomitted all over your question, tsk tsk.

I have not felt any big effect regarding transitting Pluto going over my natal Neptune. Although, Pluto at the same time was going over my IC, and it still is, and I have seen its effect. I am not sure Pluto has been quite living up to its billing, but revealing what was hidden, followed by a lot of drama as well as realisation of many many things were some of the things Pluto transit over my IC probably has indicated.

I think Pluto transit has more of a generational effect than personal. Pluto has been forcing governments to take a second look at what Capricorn represents, border security, internal structure, external affairs, international relations, and most particularly the economy: the end of highly inflated market and beginning of a market crash.

I am sorry I can not give you much of a personal experience simply because I have not felt it much, although progressed ASC conjunct Pluto was one that I have been feeling for the past couple of years, profound drama and much needed changes have taken place, I felt like I was forced to change. But the realisation of self and possibilities, I think it has more to do with my progressed Sun in conjunction with natal Mercury.

Neptune in Cap, possibly conjunct the IC with a relatively wide orb.

Pluto wont be conj my neptune for a few years yet, but it feels like it's been conj my Sun/Mars/Venus/Mercury for all of my teenage existence! (super fun, right?)

Since it's been wreaking havoc I've become so much more self aware. It's sort of allowed me to see a lot of my own personal issues and shortcomings, and now all I have to do is work to improve them. A task that feels just as hard as discovering at the moment!

I've become Agnostic, changed my dreams and goals several times over, I make it a personal mission to forever question everything, and I've become more self assertive. I've also been stressing a lot about money and what I'm going to do with my life in general. I want to do some good, somewhere.

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of to write at this late hour in my part of the world.

Sun & Mars at 4° Capricorn in 2nd house

Venus & Mercury at 29° Sagittarius in 2nd house

Neptune at 20° Capricorn 3rd house
